Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

BahitsDawg Lucas Rogers July will be a big month. Beal is announcing at the Opening I believe and signs are pointing towards UGA. So that’ll be a 5 star 🙂

  2. Bulldawg36

What if we lost to only ole miss & unc but beat everyone else would y’all be happy with that?

  3. BahitsDawg

Lucas Rogers I wonder if the moment they move ahead of us, if Kirby will have one of the other “silents” announce?

  4. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole Explains why he hasn’t got a HC job again. Too much baggage. He’ll ride out the check and then move on. Probably the same year Saban does

  5. AlphaDawg

Lucas Rogers Have we offered him? Because out of their 17 commits, we’ve only offered 2

  6. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole You just keep trying to fire me up!!!  you know I love M. Carter!  He was the better of the two between him and D. Brown!    I also believe T. Clark is going to be a solid DL as well.  But, Carter is going to All-SEC type talent!

  7. Lucas Rogers

they’re about to pass us up in rankings too lol. But we have 7 less commits lol

  8. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole No big surprise there…  Unbelievable what happens outside Athens, GA.  Prosecution declined?  Glad to know it’s ok to carry around stolen weapons while in possession of illegal narcotics!  I’ll bet you and I won’t get away with that.

Every Crimson Tide assistant football coach but Lane Kiffin will have their contract discussed by the committee. The offensive coordinator is entering the third year of his three-year deal signed before the 2014 season. He didn’t receive a raise or extension last summer either.
The terms of Kiffin’s buyout after being fired from USC in 2013 means Alabama effectively doesn’t have to give him raises because he’s due $3.4 million a year from USC. Any pay from Alabama only reduces the burden of the USC buyout.
Kiffin was paid $2.7 million by USC in 2014, the Los Angeles Times reported. He made $680,000 in each of his first two years from Alabama and is due to make $714,000 in 2016. Alabama opens the 2016 season against USC on Sept. 3 in Arlington, Texas.

Greg Poole Well, that was handy. Good thing that stolen gun wasn’t a BB gun. Things could have been different. ##

PTCDawg As Lucas said, Solomon is not a done deal – far from it. DL recruitment is going to be very interesting and will tell us  much about the staff’s thinking. Let’s say they miss on Solomon, do they move the ‘ship to another position group or go to a backup plan?

  12. Lucas Rogers

MMCSDAWG Lucas Rogers PTCDawg I’m sure it influenced his decision some, but don’t think it was a big factor

  13. MMCSDAWG

Lucas Rogers PTCDawg Do you possibly think his commitment had anything to do with his teammate also committing as a package deal???   I understand his teammate is a 2018 safety, not sure I’ve heard of him before all of this.

  14. PTCDawg

Greg Poole PTCDawg well if I move Beal and Herring to LB then I have zero DLs and about 10 LBs!! :>)

  15. Lucas Rogers

PTCDawg Solomon isn’t over. His mom loves Georgia, so that will help Georgia’s chances there. In state DL is not very deep this year. Beal currently is an OLB just cause of his size. He may grow into a DE though. I’d say 3 DL this class

  16. PTCDawg

Lucas, how many DLs you think we take this year? Dropping Solomon I only have Beal and Herring still on my tracking list.

  17. BenKellam

AlphaDawg BenKellam Dawgnation89 This next episode will be alot more relaxed I think. Mostly setting up for the next season. The 9th episode is usually their big blow out murder fest episode.

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie  – Just pointing out to Rummy that the season is 90 days long.

WalktheDawg Whisky Every camp this summer has had a fee attached and all  have been full

  20. WalktheDawg Whisky

Greg Poole WalktheDawg Whisky Just can’t imagine they are recruiting kids AND making them pay $250 a pop…

  21. WalktheDawg Whisky

Lucas Rogers $250 is a big hurdle for some of these kids…  Sounds like the CMR camp where the attendees were primarily kids of alumni that got to get on campus and shake hands with the Coaches… Was only a Marketing thing…..and made a little money for the student athletes that were coaching for the classes.
That $250 is going to be a hurdle for a lot of kids that we would like to get on campus….if that is the purpose….

  22. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie kind of meant that she was just playing for uga like 2 weeks ago

  23. Greg Poole

    RumRunnerDoogie
Average NPF player salary is approximately $5,000-$6,000 for the playing season of June, July and August.

“Some of the third-party groups putting on these camps at high schools and other places don’t have a clue what they’re doing,” a Big Ten assistant that has attended around 10 satellite camps already this summer said. “There are plenty that do a tremendous job — folks like the Sound Mind, Sound Body organizers, and I thought the Next Level Camp in New Jersey was run like a well-oiled machine — but there was another event we were at where they were so disorganized the kids didn’t even have water for the first half of the camp and there wasn’t a trainer in sight.
