I’m a bit concerned about Elijah Holyfield’s injury. Apparently he had a foot or ankle problem his senior season, which limited his playing time. I hope this isn’t a recurring situation.

SEC East No. 2: Georgia (9-3, 5-3 SEC)Kirby Smart’s debut season will be marked with likely a new starting QB as well as almost an entirely rebuilt front seven. My hunch is the Dawgs will still win a tricky opener against UNC, but if they don’t, they could be staring at a 2-3 start. Last year: 10-3, 5-3, beat Penn State in TaxSlayer Bowl. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/gallery/cfb-preseason-predictions-sec-alabama-lsu-tennessee-georgia-bruce-feldman-082216

Unc will be able to score more than likely. Question is can they stop us and can we slow em down enough? I sure do hope we win this game!! Don’t want to lose 4 straight in the dome!!!!!!!!

Greg Poole I had something similar happen to me in college.  I would rid through one of the parking lots on my bicycle and slow down enough for the gate to open.  It opened, but that sucker came right back down before I got through it.

DawgLink  I would be surprised if he didn’t model his program after the extremely successful one that he helped develop.

Greg Poole BroDawg Yeah I don’t blame anyone at all…. These guys are bred to compete and imagine it is pretty painful to watch it from the sidelines.

  7. Greg Poole

BroDawg Greg Poole  It probably is increasing but I don’t blame any kid if he wants to play.  At UGA, Nate Hybl transferred to OU after the 1999 season, to name one from a while ago.

Greg Poole Unfortunately transferring due to being the low man on the depth chart is an increasingly common trend. At least I feel like it is…. I remember reading an article on Tom Brady a while back and him describing how he was listed 7th on the depth chart his freshman and sophomore year at Michigan. He said he contemplated transferring to Cal but decided to earn greatness at Michigan instead of traveling the opportunity road…. Seems like it paid off for him.

Greg Poole I believe they have learned a new trick and they may be healing faster. And maybe they weren’t real bad to begin with. Either way I am glad to see them getting healed up, we have azzes to kick!

Bansai buckeroo Space Mountain at DISNEYLAND is much Better, Smoother and you side side by side.  Also The Matterhorn was around loooooong before Space Mountain.  I was weened on Disneyland in the 60’s.

Greg Poole Reddawg13 I don’t know if he had any photos. I am saying Kirby was retained by Saban all those years because of his ability to coach and win, not because Kirby had something on him. Like maybe pictures.

  12. Reddawg13

Bansai buckeroo I understand and my bad. But, he asked us about Dixon’s de-commitment not recruiting as a whole. Didn’t mean to cause an issue. Sorry.

  13. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Kirby didn’t coach at Memphis or Tulsa he coached at Bama and the Dolphins. One can tell he soaked up a lot of information, strategy, and how to win big over the years. We know what Saban demands of himself, his coaches and his players. Kirby wasn’t retained by Bama and Saban because he had pictures of Saban and an Auburn co-ed.

  14. Reddawg13

Bansai buckeroo I don’t think he is caught up in it, just having conversation. Which is what we do here.

  15. Reddawg13

AlphaDawg The kid is a baller and a hitter. I hate to see him de-commit but I trust Kirby and company, Whomever gets him is going to get a player.

  16. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg I saw that and I have seen less conclusive reports. I think Chip’s piece this morning is less certain about the type of sprain.

  17. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole AlphaDawg Last I read an insider source for AJC said it was a low ankle sprain which wouldn’t cause much of an issue.

  18. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg  I wi8ll be today before anything is know. The fact that he was in a boot should not scare anyone – that has become standard procedure. Mauger was in a boot one day and repping the next. Woerner wore the boot for two days bore working on the sideline with just tape.
I’m not saying that the injury in minor, just that the boot is not an indication of severity.
