TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECT: Travon Walker

Travon Walker is a 6-4 255-pound four-star defensive tackle. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 3 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 prospect in the state of Georgia. He currently holds 12 offers from teams like Clemson, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida State. The Thomaston native is a must have for the Bulldogs, and could make an impact early on in Athens.

I spoke with  Walker and asked him about his recruitment and who is his top teams.

Interview with Travon Walker:

Q: How is the overall recruiting process going for you?

A: “Recruiting overall is going great!!”

Q: Who are some of the schools in the running where you’ll take official visits?

A: “To be honest, I’m not really sure about my officials yet.”

Q: What do you think of Georgia?

A: “I think that Georgia is a pretty well-rounded school.”

Q: How hard is Georgia recruiting you?

A: “They recruit me very hard. It never goes a day where they aren’t in contact with me and they always tell me I have a chance to come in and make a big impact.”

Q: So what do you think of Tray Scott?

A: “From what I have seen so far, he’s a great coach and he’s going to keep it 100.”

Q: What are the key factors that will go into your decision?

A: “The key factors that will go into my decision is the education part, the players I surround myself with, coaching staff, and the chance to play early.”

Q: Have you decided what your major will be?

A: “Probably business or sports medicine.”

Q: So are there any current UGA commits for the 2019 class talking to you and recruiting you too? Care to share who it is?

A: “Me, Jadon (Haslewood), and Nolan (Smith) talk every day.”

Q: Do you have a list of top schools? And does anyone have the slight lead?

A: “I have a top four but a lot of schools are still coming hard.”

Q: Can you tell me the top four?

A: “Clemson, Alabama, UGA and South Carolina. No order.”
