Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Kirby Was there – as it turns out his brother was a camper there when he had leukemia – so he is very interested in the camp

dsw61  I had a convo with Jake Reuse about that this afternoon. Our conclusion was that we hoped the strategy worked.

Just got back from Camp Sunshine. Photos later. I asked Sony about his recent horseback experience and if he learned that you can’t switch them off.

You think Kirby may be keeping up the “cootie ship” tradition? While it may help with Gibbs, I just don’t see Kirby taking a kid in hopes to get a better one. Too many other players out there. I guess we will know in a couple of years.

WalktheDawg Whisky  BenKellam MMCSDAWG mauger and langley…granted that worked out great for the offer lol

Age and maturity are two completely separate realities.  It’s not an excuse to a say he is a child.  He is still going to suffer the consequences of his actions.  Of course they is certainly no shortage 18 year old males in Athens making bad decisions that won’t be in the headlines because they aren’t on the UGA football team.

AlphaDawg I realize that being football players is a brotherhood. And I love Rennie. But at some point, you’ve got to stop making excuses for these men. Chad is not a child. Once you’re 18 and old enough to join the military, the “child” tag needs to go away. This guy made bad decision after bad decision. This lies on him and is his responsibility to figure out a way to turn his life around. And he can only blame himself for the reputation he now has. And I’m off my soap box…

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie ive finally gotten a taste for ales and dark beers when im just loafing around. but come party time bring on the rum 😉

  10. MMCSDAWG

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG I hear ya…  i used to drink a LOT of Crown, but now I’m pretty much down to the lighter stuff most of the time, I will have a single bourbon once in a while, but mostly just beer and I like craft beers!

  11. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg dsw61 I just don’t see Kirby going after him if something wasn’t also in his favor. Guess we’ll find out sooner than later!

  12. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg dsw61 Lot closer than he and Nigel…  At least it sounds that way!  This J.R. kid might surprise us all, remember, he will be 3-4 yrs older than the freshman coming in 2017 and much more mature and developed….

  13. MMCSDAWG

BenKellam RumRunnerDoogie Right, if the kid can hit, he might be our next ST’s super star and believe it or not, that is important.  That kind of speed can’t be coached.

Excerpt from the following Bleacher Report article http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2201844-meet-deangelo-gibbs-college-football-recruitings-next-big-thing

—–Around five years ago, DeAngelo’s parents started an annual tradition by sending him to Dallas for the summer to stay with his uncle Jake, who spent the majority of his 12-year NFL career with the Vikings as part of a dynamic receiving trio with Cris Carter and Randy Moss.
“As he got older and started coming down here (Dallas) every summer and he started working with me, you could see the football side of him come out more,” Reed said. “We didn’t do basketball because I’m a football guy and we’re a football family. You could start to see his talent come out more when he was with us.”
Jake—who still refers to DeAngelo as “Papa,” a name which he gave him when he was very young—would take him and his son, J.R., through a series of daily workouts led by trainers and former NFL players Omar Stoutmire, George Adams and Clay Mack. These workouts also featured some of the top prep players in Texas, such as Adams’ son—current LSU safety and former 5-star recruit http://247sports.com/Player/Jamal-Adams-13171?Institution=21276—and http://247sports.com/Player/JR-Reed-24696., who enrolled at Tulsa last month.—-

  15. BenKellam

RumRunnerDoogie BenKellam Oh I definitely wasn’t complaining about adding him. I like it. He’s tall and apparently fast and if he helps us land a stud that’s just even better. We could potentially have a terrifying secondary in a few years time if this class pans out like expected.

  16. RumRunnerDoogie

BenKellam RumRunnerDoogie yea but no reason to not have more depth or ST players

  17. BenKellam

RumRunnerDoogie Our secondary is probably the area I’m least worried about this year on defense.
