Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

She wore that mask on YouTube laughing and it went viral. She even invited to the late late show

Greg Poole Bulldawg36 Me either???   I didn’t want to look stupid or un-informed!  lol!

Bulldawg36 I will also add that there is far greater room for Eason to improve his football IQ, than Lambert has room to improve his mobility; which is relatively fixed.

  4. dsw61

Bulldawg36 If Kirby starts Lambert, he will be starting the least mobile QB on the roster…after stating multiple times he prefers QBs who are mobile and can run. Kirby knows first hand that good defenses can shut down Georgia’s offense with Lambert at QB…he did last year at Bama. It will be interesting if Lambert’s football IQ mesmerizes the new staff like it did the old staff…because that’s likely his only advantage over Eason and Ramsey. I hope Kirby telling Lambert he needs to be more mobile is his way of preparing Lambert for the possibility that he may not be the starter this year. It’s not like Lambert can do a whole lot about his mobility at this point…he’s never going to be able to improve his mobility to the point where defenses worry about his running ability…and I suspect both he and Kirby know that.

What’s yalls opinion on the woman wearing the chewbacca mask and laughing? I don’t thinks it’s funny but a lot of people do.

  6. Bulldawg36

I like Jeff Dantzlers article “why not us”…that’s what I was saying yesterday! He wrote that article off of my post yesterday!! ####

  7. MMCSDAWG

Bulldawg36 We are definitely getting bigger at all positions, including WR!  I like his size!  Pair him up with Woerner in the Redzone and you have some big receivers out on routes!

  8. Bulldawg36

I like xavier Jenkins! He is a big fast WR!!! He wants to be best buds with Eason

  9. Bulldawg36

Man do I hope you’re right! I really don’t want to see lambert under center this season. I believe he is a great guy but not really a qb that’s gonna help you win a championship. 9 games sure.

  10. MMCSDAWG

ZippyMorocco I think we will see a little attrition for sure, I read somewhere that most are saying the 17 class will be around 24-28 players.  So something definitely has to give!

  11. ZippyMorocco

I only count 14 seniors on the roster. 3 or 4 juniors may leave early. 2017 will be a very small class unless there is some serious attrition.

Bulldawg36 I would agree if we were still talking about the CMR regime, but we are not.  Kirby wants to win this game and he wants to win this one bad, however, he isn’t under near as much pressure from the fan base as CMR would be.  From everything I’ve been able to read and hear via multiple sources, I believe Kirby will pick the person he believes gives us the best chance to win and I believe that is Eason.  This game could turn into a shot out, UNC can put points on the board offensively, however, their defense is very porous, so we may need to score 30-35 pts to win and I don’t believe Lambert is the best QB to achieve that task.   I believe Eason showed us at G-day that he can handle the pressure better than most of us every thought he would.  Can you imagine the pressure he felt when he came on that field in front of 93K+ and yet he handled it well.  I know things will be different in an actual game, but I am still pretty confident in my prediction of Eason starting!

  13. Bulldawg36

We all be very curious & axious to see When Eason takes over. I do hope it will be game one. But even Stafford didn’t take off till the auburn game. Played well enough that year to beat the chickens on the road tho!

  14. TtownDawg

Bulldawg36  I like that, also to add to it, have Eason start the home opener and let him light it up.

  15. MMCSDAWG

TtownDawg MMCSDAWG Bulldawg36 I expect Cheney to bring him along slowly at first, but I also expect him to take a lot more of those shots down field than what we’ve seen in the past.  It fits both Kirby and Cheney’s patterns.  Alabama is known for power running, but they are also the team that will run, run, run then attempt to throw one over the top.

  16. Bulldawg36

Hope you’re right MMCS! But I think lambert will start and if he does well I only see Eason coming in for mop duty when we are up 21 in the 4th. I just believe expereince win the day when it comes to openers!!!!!!!!

  17. MMCSDAWG

Score Check MMCSDAWG Greg Poole TeeHDawg I fully expect there to be some type of roster management in effect under Kirby.  I don’t expect the same type of “Gray” shirting, but I do expect there will be some players strongly encouraged to look elsewhere to play college football.  Which by the way, I don’t have a problem with. If you haven’t been able to crack the top 3 at your position and aren’t a vital part of our special teams after 2-3 years on campus.  Are you really going to ever play at UGA?  If your a football player you want to play football.  If you would be able to play at a lessor division or team, then why would you want to stay somewhere you will never get to play?  Get your education (3 years) and go play football, the sport you love at the collegiate level somewhere.

WOW!!!!  So Kirby is going to copy saban’s “roster management” technique?

  19. revtizzy

Good interview by Hamilton Culpepper with Mike Cavan, if y’all haven’t read it.  I enjoyed reading that and I am impressed by young Mr. Hamilton (in 9th grade).  Well done.

  20. MMCSDAWG

Bulldawg36 I hope we don’t need him…  I’m sticking with my long time prediction that Eason is our starter against UNC and if not, Ramsey is the wildcard.  So many people have talked about getting your best players on the field and I don’t think there is any doubt that Eason is the most talented QB @UGA currently.  The tandem of Cheney and Pittman will be trusted to get Eason ready and protect him with play calling and a dominating running game!  Watch out once he gets settled .  Hard play action fake to Sony, Eason reverse pivots rolls to his left, plants his back foot and hits a wide open WR about 45-50 yards downfield.

  21. Bulldawg36

If we do wear alt unis for the unc game! I hope it will be a nice one!!! Don’t mess with the helmet!!!!!

  22. Bulldawg36

Can Lambert pick apart the unc secondary? Something tells me can do enough to get us a victory in that game!!!!!

  23. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole TeeHDawg Yeah, the only Red Shirts I see coming in the near future would be OL and QB…  Kirby not going to postpone the inevitable.  Either your good enough to crack the rotation/depth chart or you won’t be around 4+ years!

  24. Greg Poole

TeeHDawg   He plays, unless he has serious trouble with the offense.  Redshirt will not be the plan.

  25. TeeHDawg

Yes. They lost a lot of one on one’s after Chubb went down. Michel can win the one on one’s but he is more effective on the perimeter.
Wilson is potentially a bigger version of Michel. It will take him time to get the plays down and to be effective in inside runs. Does he redshirt this year? Or do we give him some touches? I can see him returning kicks if we don’t redshirt him. I personally see he is a better fit a S.

  26. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole TeeHDawg Ditto, I want Chubb available, would like to see him hit the field during the first drive if at all possible, but no more than 6-8 carries for the game.  We should be able to run on UNC.  They were TERRIBLE against the run last year.

  27. Greg Poole

TeeHDawg   The key to Georgia’s running game is that (in the Richt era) most running plays were designed to get the RB in a one-on-one with a LB and have the RB beat him. When Chubb went down that ability to win the one-on-one’s went down markedly. The best evidence of it is Chubb’s incredible YAC stats.

We will know more about Georgia’s run game against UNC. I do not expect to see Chubb much, if at all. If the other backs can win their matchups, the Dawgs will be in good shape.

  28. TeeHDawg

Re watching Gday, I think Tae Crowder makes more of an impact than we realize. He has pretty decent vision running up the middle.

  29. TeeHDawg

Also see that Ryne Rankin and possibly Key on Brown in that same boat. I feel that Brown is the only that actually has a chance to play defense on a regular basis. And so far, that’s mainly due to depth issues.

  30. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG Maybe so, I been in stadium dressing rooms – college and pro  – and they are all pretty much concrete deals. I think Bama and UT have real fancy dressing rooms in their equivalents to B-M. But I can not imagine that their stadium dressing rooms are opulent – teams spend so little time in them…..

  31. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG Pretty sure it is a comparison deal when compared to what he had at Alabama and what Tennessee has being light years ahead of ours.
