Today on Bulldawg Illustrated’s UGA Recruiting Daily we look at Georgia’s defensive front seven recruiting and four 2018 defensive end prospects.
With the de-commitment of Caleb Tannor from UGA back on Nov. 13th, that leaves the Dogs with Jaevon Becton and Azeez Ojulari committed DE. The question now is whether or not the Georgia coaching staff will use that vacated spot on another DE or look to another position. If they they are looking to fill Tannor’s spot with another DE, four potential prospects are KJ Henry, Caleb Johnson, Kayode Oladele, Micah Parsons

NEWS & NOTES: Henry was offered by the Bulldogs back in April of 2016 and following a year of recruiting, he listed Georgia in his top-10 on April 5th. Henry camped and visited at UGA on June 4th and June 5th, and then participated in Nike the Opening Finals during the summer. He dropped his top five on July 31st, and the Bulldogs made the cut along with Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and VT. Many think Clemson is the team to beat here, but Henry’s recruiting is wide open IMO.
Georgia is very much “in it” as far as this recruiting battle goes. He took an official visit to UGA on Sept. 23rd for the Mississippi State game and had a great visit. Henry also took an official visit to VT on Oct. 21st, to Clemson on Oct. 28th, and South Carolina on Nov. 11th. That leaves him with one more official visit if he should choose to take it. Henry has scheduled his commitment announcement for Dec. 20th at 4:00 p.m. ET.

NEWS & NOTES: Oladele was offered by UGA back in February, and he visited Georgia for G-Day on 04/22. He had been committed to FSU but de-committed from the Noles on May 6th. After he de-committed, Oladele camped and visited again at UGA on June 2nd. He also camped and visited at Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Tennessee over the summer. He was considered a potential Ole Miss lean, but since Hugh Freeze’s firing and the upheaval at the school with the NCAA penalties bearing down on the program, one would think they are no longer considered here, which was confirmed when he released his top three schools. Oladele released his top three schools on Oct. 10th from which he will make his final decision: Alabama, LSU, and UGA. He will be taking an official visit to Auburn on Dec. 1st.

NEWS & NOTES: Parsons de-committed from Penn State on April 23rd and a little over a month later put UGA in his top 7 he released on May 26th. As things stand right now, it appears he is leaning towards Ohio State and PSU. Parsons visited Bama on July 16th and Ohio State on July 21st and he took an official visit to the Buckeyes game against Oklahoma on Sept. 9th. Parsons was at Penn State on Sept. 16 for an unofficial visit, and he also took an official to visit Nebraska on Oct. 7th for the Cornhuskers home game against Wisconsin. Parsons took his third official to Oklahoma on Oct. 28th. Would like to see Georgia get one of his last two official visits if they are to have a chance, but right now, it looks like Penn State is the favorite here.
