MMCSDAWG That is fantastic news! We should be right at the top when it comes to facilities. Time for the Atlanta Whales to break out their checkbooks and pony up some cash!

You mean that his hair really didn’t age like his eyebrows and he is dyeing it???

No, he is the Barn’s compliance director.
dawgmum
DawgLink Andrew Thomas, that’s the third.
dawgmum
DawgLink Here’s a couple: Cam Akers, Jamaree Salyer from Pace. I think the other big recruit from Pace is coming too, but sorry, I can’t remember his name.

Briles out @ Baylor! There are a lot of takeaways from this story. Certainly we now live in a different era where a Head Coach can no longer pick up the phone and contact the Chief of Police to quietly get a player indiscretion disappear. I think another blow horn moment hear is recruiting. If you a young HC making $1+M/Yr. you better think long and hard about recruiting strategy or you could find your career short lived. Character, intelligence and maturity should be just as important as 40 yard dash times, because Briles got fired, because he had too many players on his team of questionable character.
DawgLink
Anyone got a list of visiting recruits for the weekend?
Bulldawg36
Kirby is certainly right when he says if you get the best players in state you should win championships. That’s why I hate we missed out on Robertson …price and brown. Brown probably would of played right away because of depth issues. Robertson would of been the fastest WR in UGA history maybe. Price might even been 2nd team LT
TtownDawg
Bulldawg36 Yes!!! get through the summer and then its time for football again!
Bulldawg36
Hunker down dawg fans!!!!!!!
Bulldawg36
All of these guys have one thing in common….they have all been involved in scandals. Lol

Both would be pretty funny. Johnny would never be able to show up for work because he is so drunk

Good read and goes along with Kirby working to get our facilities and resources up to par with Championship teams!
Greg Poole Win an NC in 2018 and katy bar the door on the 2019 budget!!! Like you said, it’s an investment and I’m looking forward to the extended returns!
Greg Poole
The point I’m making here is that UGA is way behind in spending. USCe out-spent UGA in 2015. Louisville out-spent Georgia. Where does $123 million put UGA? Better, no doubt, but spending is relative to what the other guy is doing.
Greg Poole
RumRunnerDoogie I think they are just trying to figure out how to do it now. Some substantial changes will have to be made to accommodate the facilities they are talking about.
Bulldawg36 i think a better QB coach would be reggie ball

Greg Poole I’m sure you’ll have an article up soon but here’s the other improvements
The $1 million was part of a $9 million approved for different facility-related projects that were approved by the UGA Athletic Board during its quarterly meeting Thursday in Greensboro.
Others include:
• Enhancements to Stegeman Coliseum, Phase 1 – $1,800,000. Plans include a large-scale aesthetic improvement to the southeast end zone, a space currently occupied with achievement banners of all three sports competing in the Coliseum. The display – which will consists of a mural featuring former UGA men’s and women’s basketball players, along with former gymnastics greats, will surround, keeping intact, the existing video board.
• Jack Turner Soccer stadium renovation — $4,575,000. This renovation project will replace the grandstand and press box, which had been intact since the soccer stadium was built in 1998.
The board also approved a budget of $123,049,705 for fiscal year 2017.
McGarity also used the meeting to apologize to the board for details of the contract with Grammy winner Ludacris for G-Day, which included riders for condoms and alcohol.
“I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to our board for mistakes we made with certain aspects of the details of an entertainment agreement,” McGarity told the board. “Few things in my professional life have bothered me more than this situation. There are no reruns in life so we need to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and do everything we can to make sure errors of this nature do not occur.”
In other news:
• Faculty Athletics Representative David Shipley praised a record 60 percent of UGA’s nearly 500 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 grade point average in the Spring Semester 2016. The average GPA of all student-athletes this spring was 3.04 and included 35 that posted perfect 4.0 GPAs.

bahits I’m pretty sure the budget was under $100mm in 2016 – certainly in 2015

From UGA:
*Sanford Stadium west end zone project — $1,000,000. This project will serve as the initial, exploratory steps of a major enhancement to the west end zone of Sanford Stadium. These enhancements include: a new home locker room for the Bulldogs, a space to host and entertain prospects on game day, and improvements to rest room concession areas.

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG I hope you young guys can establish a new tradition of National Titles! One us older folks got a taste of, but not nearly a tradition! I had my doubts when I heard Kirby was the choice, but even an old dawg can be taught new tricks and learn a lesson or two! He has definitely done things I never thought I would see in 6 months on the job!
Greg Poole
MMCSDAWG I think the main thing with the east end locker room is that it is small to have over 100 players. To separate the units and be able to make adjustments has to be tough at halftime – Players, coaches, trainers and others all in that space has to be tough.
We don’t get in until most of the players have left. I can see how size would be an issue.
MMCSDAWG
ZippyMorocco bahits AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG And/or Auburn. I would absolutely hate to see CMB to go Auburn…

As is always the case with budgets, they mean little unless compared. In the first 2 paragrapg of my budget post I try to add some perspective.
