Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

DawgByte Greg Poole they really need to put a cap on how many a school can attend or hold in a year or its going to turn into the only thing they do

  2. DawgByte

RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole Agree. It’s an example of the importance of casting a broader net in recruiting, so you can create more depth. Our QB talent level was beyond subpar to put it kindly.

Greg Poole Where does the money go for these players fee they have to pay to get in?

Greg Poole i think last season is the perfect example of why u dont have the entire offense revolve around one player

DawgByte come on, if u are going to be like 36 u need to put more “!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” #

Greg Poole He’s a Dawg. He just needs to keep things interesting until he commits

DawgByte The complaints are ridiculous. When I started getting season tickets in the 80’s the annual minimum contribution was $400 for upper deck seats. Factor for inflation and one can see how demand slackened in the past few years.

Greg Poole I agree. I’ve always been mystified by our low endowment. This is a rich state and the defacto capital of the Southeast. We need more big money folks opening up their wallets and contributing to this flagship university (the new Harvard of the south). It’s embarrassing that a state like Alabama can garner the athletic support they do and we can’t seem to keep pace with them. That’s unacceptable.

DawgByte  It could happen. I think it is more dependent on when Kirby wants it to happen than any last minute decision by a prospect. I’m thinking an announcement (or three) will coincide with the various camps in Athens next month.

The Senator has a post up in which he cites some of his readers complaining about the coming increases in ticket prices via the contribution increases.
The most sacred and unassailable law of economics is TANSTAAFL (The Ain’ No Such Thing As A Free Lunch).
Georgia is going to increase spending every year for the foreseeable future. Kirby is not going to stick around if he has a built-in disadvantage when compared to the teams he must beat. He will take several years of increases just to regrade the playing field.
That new spending has to come from new revenue. The number of seats is fixed. SEC based revenue will increase but Georgia has no control over it and the other programs get an equal share. Contributions are the going to the primary source of new funds.
    Pay up or move aside.

I think we should do our own dawg version of a thread I saw on Reddit. Since there are 99 days left before the season starts. Who is everyones favorite player ever to wear number 99?

DawgLink I believe he will be given a 2-3 year show cause so he’s out of coaching for a while!

DawgLink  Y’all be sure to leave a comment on his post. Comments let an author know what folks think about his/her work.

You got that right. Baylor’s review was incriminating. I still think more is coming.
