UNDECLARED 2017 PROSPECTS
Updated 00:45 a.m. ET 28-Jan-2017
Latavious Brini – 2017 CB
40% USF, 30% VT, 10% Miami, 10% Oregon, 10% UGA. Brini is set to announce his decision on Feb. 1st, and just visited UGA on January 20th. He was a Hokie lean but Coach Strong and USF have made a big push here. Watch for Oregon, though. He is visiting at Eugene, Oregon this weekend to see the Ducks this weekend.
Markaviest Bryant – 2017 WDE
80% UGA, but Auburn has made a late push here for the “Big Cat;” so, my confidence has dropped from 95% to 80%. I still think UGA is the favorite here. He visited LSU this past weekend and visited Arkansas on the 25th. He is visiting Auburn this weekend. He will likely announce his final decision sometime after his visit.
Nico Collins – 2017 WR
40% Michigan, 40% UGA, 20% Alabama. My confidence that Collins could pick the Bulldogs has gone from 10% up to 40% in just about a month. Michigan was the favorite, but not anymore. Georgia is doing an outstanding job here recruiting the phenomenal wideout. He is visiting UGA this weekend; so, this is one to definitely keep your eye on. He is scheduled to announce his decision and then shortly afterward sign his LOI with the school of his choice on Feb. 1st at 2:30 p.m.
Tedarrell Slaton – 2017 OL/DL
70% Florida, 20% UGA, 10% Ole Miss. Slaton took an official visit to Florida this past weekend, and it looks like he will visit Georgia this weekend. The Bulldogs could have a shot at the big man out of American Heritage. “TD” is scheduled to announce his decision and then sign with the school of his choice on NSD at 8:00 a.m.
Aubrey Solomon – 2017 DT
Was a Michigan-Georgia battle and now it appears to be an Alabama-Michigan-Georgia battle, but it is anybody’s guess as to where he ends up or when he announces his decision. His announcement and signing ceremony will be carried via ESPN from Lee Co. High School on Feb. 1st at approximately 9:45 a.m.
Aaron Sterling – 2017 DE
65% South Carolina, 20% Tennessee, 15% Georgia. Has been a big South Carolina lean for a long while, but both Georgia and Tennessee have made inroads in his recruitment here of late. Sterling visited UGA on January 19th and then Tennessee over the weekend. He will visit South Carolina this weekend and likely decide between the Bulldogs, Gamecocks, and Vols. I still think South Carolina is a favorite here, but he will make his decision and then sign with the school of his choice on Feb. 1st at 4:00 p.m.
Ameer Speed – 2017 CB
50% UGA, 45% Virginia Tech, 5% UNC, . He is planning to announce on NSD on Feb. 1st between Georgia, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon, and Virgina Tech. Speed visited UGA on January 20th and from all accounts, it went very well. The Bulldogs are looking to land another CB in this class, and although VT was a strong favorite here, the Georgia coaching staff has given Speed a lot to think about after his visit. My confidence pick here has gone from 15% to 50% for the Dawgs which puts this as a UGA-VT battle and Georgia might have a slight lead here going into the final week before NSD. Speed will take an OV to Oregon this weekend.
Eric Stokes Jr. – 2017 CB
95% sure he picks UGA if there is room, but I’m 50/50 on if there is an open spot for him at the moment. He visited UGA on January 20th along with three other cornerbacks; so, it is possible that the coaching staff takes whoever commits first between Brini, Stokes, and Speed or Williams flipping. Right now, it looks like out of that group it could be Speed or Williams, possibly both. Stokes has scheduled to announce his decision and sign with the school of his choice on NSD at 6:00 p.m.
Tyler Taylor – 2017 ILB
30% UGA, 30% Oklahoma, 30% Auburn, 10% LSU. At one time, Taylor was favored to Georgia, but he is likely an odd man out due to who the Bulldogs have committed and who they are focusing on to close out the class with. Taylor is scheduled to announce his decision and then sign with the school of his choice at 9:45 a.m. from the College Football Hall of Fame on NSD.
Leonard Warner – 2017 ILB
As you know, I have been 95% sure Warner would end up at UGA if he had committed earlier, but now, he may be another 4-star prospect that is on the outside looking in. If he doesn’t commit to UGA or there are not any spots left, where will Warner end up? He could look to head out west to Stanford which seems like the logical choice if he is not coming to UGA, but when has recruiting ever subscribed to logic on a regular basis? Enter into the equation FSU who looks like they have made a strong push here. Hey, stranger things have happened. Warner is scheduled to announce his decision and then sign with the school of his choice at 10:15 a.m. from the College Football Hall of Fame on NSD.
FLIP CHANCES
Elijah Blades – 2017 CB, Was committed to Florida but de-committed on Wednesday the 26th. Flip potential to UGA is still only 10%. Likely will go to Nebraska or possibly Oregon. He will announce his final decision and sign with the school of his choice on Feb. 1st from John Muir High School at approximately 1 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. ET).
Larrell Murchison – 2017 JUCO DT
Murchison is a JUCO DT out of Louisburg College who is currently committed to Ole Miss, but he got an offer from Georgia while visiting Athens over the weekend. Flip potential 50/50. Murchison will announce his final decision and then sign with the school of his choice on NSD at 9:00 a.m. from Louisburg College in North Carolina.
A.J. Terrell – 2017 CB, committed to Clemson. Flip potential to UGA was 35% and down to 10% with the way the visits went this past weekend for Speed and Williams.
Tamorrion Terry – 2017 WR, Committed to FSU. The question is will he qualify academically. If not, he is likely headed to JUCO or Prep. 0% flip potential.
Jamyest Williams – 2017 CB, committed to South Carolina. Flip potential to UGA has gone from 25% to 50%, was up to 60%, and now back to 50/50, which is where I am going to leave it. Even though he had a very good visit to Georgia, he’s showing South Carolina much love, and he will visit with the Gamecocks this weekend before NSD. Georgia is not out of it and fellow 2017 prospects Isaiah Wilson and William Poole along with Tray Bishop are still recruiting him. He has said he will make his final decision announcement on NSD at 9:00 a.m. and then sign with the school of his choice.
DeVonte Wyatt – 2017 DL, Committed to Georgia. Flip potential to South Carolina is 55%, was 45%. The Bulldogs could lose Wyatt to South Cacky-Lacky, but the coaching staff has done everything they can here. A lot will depend on Wyatt’s visit to the Gamecocks this weekend along with his contact with the Georgia coaching staff this week. He will make his final decision between Georgia and South Carolina on NSD between 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. and then sign his LOI with the school of his choice.
