Today on Bulldawg Illustrated’s UGA Recruiting Daily we look at linebacker recruiting.

We took a look at four linebackers back on October 18th; so, what has changed in the last 10 days? The Bulldogs continue to gain momentum for 2019 LB prospect out of Grayson, Owen Pappoe, as well as, 2018 prospect Channing Tindall. We looked at Pappoe and 2019 prospect Trezmen Marshall as well as 2018 prospects Adam Anderson and Otis Reese in that recruiting daily feature on the 18th, CLICK HERE. Today we look at two 2018 prospects, Richard Jibunor and Tindall, and then take a look at a couple of 2019 recruits – Kevin Harris and King Mwikuta.

With Rome OLB Adam Anderson committed along hybrid OLB/WDE Azeez Ojulari and Caleb Tannor for 2018 and the possibility that safety commit Aaron Brule could be moved to LB, what will the Georgia coaching staff close out this class with at the LB position? They are working hard to flip Lee County’s Otis Reese from Michigan and have their sights square on Spring Valley High School’s Channing Tindall. If the Bulldogs are not able to flip Reese, then they could offer and look to sway Richard Jibunor; although, he is a heavy Auburn lean at the moment. Or they could choose just to wait for 2019 and recruit an addition linebacker. With 18 commitments in the 2018 class, spots are feeling up fast.

TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

If position ranking is noted, it is 247 Sports latest composite ranking of the player.

RICHARD JIBUNOR

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: LB – No. 14 athlete

HT, WT: 6 foot 3, and 206 lbs

SCHOOL: Athens Christian High School Athens, GA

CITY, STATE: Athens, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: No

# OFFERS: 18

NEWS & NOTES: Jibunor goes to school just up the road from UGA at Athens Christian and is a very talented athlete. There is some question about what his best position is at the college level and it most likely will depend on the system he plays in. On defense, Jibunor is a hybrid linebacker/safety type player very much like Lee County’s Otis Reese or former Bulldogs Thomas Davis and Alec Ogletree, but on offense, he is a tough matchup due to his size and length of his frame. Jibunor doesn’t hold an offer from UGA but did visit Georgia for the Mississippi State on Sept. 23rd.

CHANNING TINDALL

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: LB – No. 5 OLB

HT, WT: 6 foot 2, and 213 lbs

SCHOOL: Spring Valley High School

CITY, STATE: Columbia, SC

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 02/11/2017.

# OFFERS: 19

NEWS & NOTES: Tindall was offered back in February and visited UGA for G-Day on April 22nd. He returned to Athens, GA on the weekend of July 15th for “Kirby-Que.” Like Colquitt County’s JJ Peterson, Tindall could play either outside or inside linebacker. So what are Tindall’s top schools? He hasn’t released a list, but if you follow the visits, in addition to UGA, he took unofficials to Florida, FSU, and South Carolina during the latter part of July. A number of analysts believe it is a FSU-USCe battle for Tindall, but I think his recruiting is more wide open than just those two programs. Georgia is looking for to take another LB in the 2018 class, and the staff likes Tindall a lot. He was in Athens again for Georgia’s game vs. Mississippi State on Sept. 23rd.

SCHOOL: Grayson High School

CITY, STATE: Loganville, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/04/2017.

NEWS & NOTES: The Bulldogs were one of the first three schools to offer Harris back in the spring. He forms one part of a talented Grayson OLB duo with another 2019 prospect, Owen Pappoe. Harris will also line up on the LOS and play with his hand in the dirt. Harris will remind of you Adam Anderson with his 6 foot 4.5 and 210 lbs frame. Right now, he is considered a Dawg lean. Harri recently visited UGA for their homecoming game versus Mississippi State on Sept. 23rd.

KING MWIKUTA

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: LB – No. 5 OLB

SCHOOL: Troup County High School

CITY, STATE: LaGrange, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 01/28/2017.

# OFFERS: 17

NEWS & NOTES: The Bulldogs offered Mwikuta back in January. Like Northside’s Caleb Johnson, Troup County’s King Mwikuta has a big frame and is athletic, and he could play at ILB, OLB, or WDE at the collegiate level; although, OLB looks to be a perfect fit for him. Mwikuata visited the Dogs back in June, and he also visited Alabama and Auburn over the summer. Mwikuta was also in town on Sept. 23rd for UGA vs. Mississippi game. Right now, the early 2019 recruiting battle looks to be between Bama and Georgia. Mwikuta visited Alabama on Sept. 30th and again on Oct. 14th
