UGA Recruiting Daily Thread
After taking 7 defensive backs in the 2017 recruiting class, how many will the Georgia staff take in 2018? The Bulldogs already have Hapeville Charter CB Chris Smith and Miami-Northwestern safety Rachad Wildgoose, Jr. committed. UGA is also heavily favored to land Trinity Christian Academy safety Tyrique Johnson; so, it makes sense that if they take a fourth DB in 2018 and perhaps a fifth that it would be a CB. And if the staff just takes 4 DBs this cycle, they will likely look to recruit CB heavy in the 2019 cycle. Featured on Bulldawg Illustrated today are two 2018 and two 2019 CB prospects that include Jemaurian Jones, Christian Tutt, Andrew Booth, and Jalen Perry.

NEWS & NOTES: Questions have surrounded Tutt and whether or not Georgia has still been recruiting him. He did visit the Dogs back on April 8th and reports are that the coaching staff is still maintaining an open line of communication with him. Tutt’s recruiting is all over the place at the moment, and the Dogs are still not out of this race just yet. However, after his visit to Nebraska in June, he is considered a Cornhusker lean.
Tutt and Thompson have started 2-0 on the year earning wins over Laney and Effingham County on the road. Tutt and the Bulldogs return home to host a good Jefferson team this Friday on September 1st.
