Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Bansai buckeroo Best option. I wouldn’t get excited for Stevens. Everything I’ve read has been in past tense like he’s already out of UGA’s reach

AlphaDawg 1mandawgpack DawgByte  Agreed – or perhaps the coaches don’t like what they’ve seen (no knowledge – just stating a possibility).  I have far more faith in our coaches to evaluate talent that may or may not fit our system and “process” than the guys at Rivals, etc. who assign stars.

1mandawgpack AlphaDawg DawgByte OHHHH well nevermind. Maybe it’s just a ‘haven’t evaluated him yet’ deal

Greg Poole  Spurrier doesn’t look too bad for an older guy, although there’s certainly room for improvement.  What puzzles me is how some of these coaches are around great athletes every day who are generally in great shape and have access to great facilities, and it doesn’t motivate them at all to do something about their physical condition.  As an example, Coach Chaney just looks unhealthy and with the environment in which he works, one would think that it would motivate him to do something about it.  I work a ton of hours and am challenged finding the time to exercise, but if the place I worked every day had great training equipment, showers, etc., I can assure you that I’d find the 45 minutes or so to do some sort of physical activity.

DawgByte Bulldawg36 Dont get it. year after year after year there are talented but not elite teams that just happen to have a great year. have no idea what it is about us that makes one think we have to have 3 or 4 top 3 classes to be competitive.

  6. DawgByte

WillieWalden However, currently they only have 1 more 5* and 1 more 4* than UGA. Where they’re killing it is the number of players in the Top 100.

  7. Brooklyndawg

Bansai buckeroo Also makes for healthier living, why suffer cardiovascular risk over what some kids may or may not do?

  8. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 Completely agree. We need 3 more Top Three classes building upon Kirby’s player profile before we’re playoff ready.

  9. DawgByte

Greg, why haven’t we offered Poole’s teammate, Chris Smith? He has offers from AU and SC! He’s a 4*, seems like a no brainer.

  10. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole WillieWalden And, you figure they will lose skills up there in the frozen tundra when they are trapped indoors 6 months of the year.

  11. Bansai buckeroo

I’m just not going to get emotionally invested with any of these kids….if they commit….fine. If not…good luck to them…. I learned my lesson with Tunsil..

  12. Bulldawg36

I bet he is going to bummer. Very happy that the season starts so I don’t have too worry about recruiting. We will finish with a great class. Doesn’t like we will get another recruit before the season starts, well maybe Lawerence

  13. PTCDawg

1mandawgpack Doc R ronaldo77 Bulldawg36 Me and you 1man. We are big time minority opinion here but being wrong never kept me from being certain! :>)

Think he could really be pivotal to our team this year either starting or off the bench. Just wish folks would wish him the best instead of piling on insults.

  14. Score Check

What IF  Jacoby Stevens is just playing games (CBs to Bama then CBs to LSU).
And he has every intention to commit to the G!!!!

  15. Greg Poole

WillieWalden  Every player they get from the South is one UGA will not face during the season. Better there than Auburn.

  16. Bulldawg36

Not for a while they won’t ba hits… It’s sad to say it but Ohio st is better than us. I don’t even know if we are one of the top 15 teams in America. Dawg till I die, but we ain’t playoff ready right now and Ohio st is.

  17. Frankly

    WillieWalden

Still have to play it on the field but getting to the playoff will be a breeze.  Michigan will be the only challenge they have in the  Big 10.

  18. WillieWalden

I really don’t like Ohio state but man what a class they’re putting together.. Hard to imagine the championship not going through them in the near future
