UGA Recruiting Daily Thread

Out of Georgia’s 12 commits for 2018, the Dogs have three hybrid OLB/WDE prospects that could play standing up or down on the d-line with their hand in the dirt from the rush end or WDE position. Those prospects include Jaevon Becton, Azeez Ojulari, and Caleb Tannor; although, Becton most likely will develop into a SDE or even DT with his frame at some point in his collegiate career. But the Georgia staff is also targeting some straight up linebackers like class of 2018 Adam Anderson and JJ Peterson and class of 2019 Kevin Harris and Owen Pappoe; today’s featured prospects on Bulldawg Illustrated.

JJ PETERSON

UGA OFFER: Yes.

# OFFERS: 12

NEWS & NOTES: J.J. visited UGA back on February 18th and was also on hand for Georgia’s G-Day game back on April 22nd. UGA OLB coach Kevin Sherrer visited J.J.on May 5th, but despite their efforts, the Dogs have some ground to make up here. Right now, Alabama is considered a favorite to land Peterson, but the Moultrie, GA star visited Auburn at least three times since April and has also received a number of off campus visits from Auburn LB Coach Travis Williams; so, keep an eye on the Tigers. Peterson is a very athletic linebacker with some speed, which shows when he also lines up on offense for Colquitt County at WR or RB. Could play OLB or ILB at the next level. Peterson and Colquitt have opened their season with 2 wins, one over Norcross and the other over California power Vista Murrieta. The Packers host Tucker this Friday.
