ESPN announced Monday afternoon its slate of college sports to air on its networks this fall. For the University of Georgia, a combined nine women’s soccer and volleyball matches are set to air nationally this season.
For the soccer program, the Bulldogs will appear four times on the networks of ESPN this fall. This Sunday’s season opener at Jack Turner Soccer Complex against South Carolina will air on SEC Network at 1 p.m. Georgia’s home match against Tennessee on Friday, Oct. 2 will also air on SEC Network. The Bulldogs and Lady Vols will square off under the lights at 7 p.m.
Soccer’s television slate rounds out with back-to-back matches at the end of October. The first, when the Auburn Tigers come to Athens Oct. 18, will air on SEC Network at 6 p.m. Georgia travels to Vanderbilt the following Sunday, Oct. 25 for a 5 p.m. match on ESPNU.
The 2020 SEC soccer season will consist of an eight-match, Conference-only regular season over eight weeks of competition beginning Sept. 18, followed by the SEC Championship, Nov. 13-22, in Orange Beach, Alabama. All 14 schools will compete in the SEC Championship with each team guaranteed at least two matches.
The Bulldogs volleyball program will have five of its eight fall matches air on the networks of ESPN, beginning opening weekend against South Carolina. The noon match on Sunday, Oct. 18 will air on SEC Network.
Both of Georgia’s midweek matches at Tennessee will be on television. The first on Wednesday, Oct. 28 will air on ESPNU. Thursday’s match can be viewed on SEC Network. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m. from Knoxville.
Georgia’s final home match of the fall will air on SEC Network on Nov. 8. First serve against the Alabama Crimson Tide is set for 2 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum. The first match against Florida on Nov. 20 will also air on SEC Network at 7 p.m. from Gainesville.
The 2020 SEC volleyball season will consist of an eight-match, Conference-only schedule over six weeks of competition beginning Oct. 16 with each school competing against four opponents twice in the same weekend on back-to-back days.
SEC soccer and volleyball teams will participate in spring competition as well, with details of formats contingent on final decisions by the NCAA to conduct spring championships in those sports.
Home matches for both soccer and volleyball not set for television, will stream on SEC Network+.
