The 552 student-athletes enrolled at the University of Georgia earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the 2014 fall semester.
This is the second year in a row that Georgia student-athletes have combined for a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better during the fall semester. Achieving a 3.0 or higher has been accomplished previously during the spring semesters, but last year in 2013 was the first time this achievement occurred in the fall.

On the men’s side, the cross country team claimed the honor for the highest GPA with a 3.19 average, while the women’s teams were led by the swimming & diving squad that turned in a combined 3.36.

Among the men’s teams, tennis finished second with a 3.04 mark while track & field posted a 2.98 cumulative GPA to finish third in the standings. Swimming & diving finished fourth with a 2.96, followed by golf in fifth with a 2.87.

Equestrian claimed second place honors on the women’s side with a cumulative GPA of 3.33 while cross country was close behind in third with a 3.32. Track & field finished fourth posting a GPA of 3.24, followed by volleyball in fifth with a 3.22.

The GPA of cross country athletes was also counted in the final standings for track & field, but the mark is not counted twice in the total number of students or in the overall total GPA.
