ATHENS, Ga. — UGA well represented in the 2015 Pan Am Games as nine Bulldawg swimmers and one Bulldawg golfer will be competing this week in the games in Toronto.

The swimming competition will start on Tuesday and will run through Saturday at the CIBC Aquatics Centre & Field House. Representing the United States will be current swimmers Gunnar Bentz, Olivia Smoliga, Kylie Stewart and Ty Stewart and former standouts Andrew Gemmell, Allison Schmitt and Amanda Weir. Current swimmers Brittany MacLean and Chantal Van Landeghem will compete for Canada.

The inaugural golf event will take place Thursday through Sunday at Angus Glen Golf Club and current Bulldog Lee McCoy will be playing for the United States.

The Pan Am Games are the third-largest international multi-sport Games behind only the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games. The 2015 Pan Am Games will feature more than 7,500 athletes from 41 countries in North, South and Central America and the Caribbean competing in 48 sports.
