The UGA women’s tennis team, with a record of (17-2) overall and a (10-1) conference record, soared up to the number 3 spot in the latest ITA team rankings that were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Georgia enters this week on a four-match win streak, claiming three wins over top-25 teams in that span. Most recently, the Bulldogs defeated then-No. 16 LSU and then-No. 18 Texas A&M on the road this past weekend.

The Bulldogs will welcome No. 4 Florida to the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on Friday night at 5 p.m.

In the singles poll, sophomore Ellen Perez once again reached a career-best ranking – the fourth consecutive poll in which she has done so – and checks in at No. 4 nationally. Perez is unbeaten in SEC play, holding a 10-0 record with one unfinished match that ended on match point.

Following behind Perez is Caroline Brinson at 29, down two spots from her previous mark of 27. Kennedy Shaffer claimed her spring-best mark of 46 in the latest rankings, and Silvia Garcia wraps up the ranked Bulldogs at 86, a six-spot climb from last week’s spot.

In doubles, Georgia maintains two ranked pairs: Perez and Mariana Gould at 20, the duo’s highest mark since Jan. 5, and the Garcia/Shaffer pairing which checked in at 67, a 13-spot jump from last week.
