Highlighted with six NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, Georgia volleyball head coach Tom Black officially released the 2017 Georgia volleyball schedule on Wednesday.
 
 
In all, the Bulldogs will play 31 games, including 15 at home starting on August 25 with the Benson Hospitality Invitational. With 25 opponents on the docket, eight finished with 20 or more wins in 2016 while three of the six NCAA Tournament teams went on past the first round–all in SEC foes of Florida, Missouri and Kentucky.
 
 
After an Alumni Scrimmage on August 19, Black will officially begin his first season with the Bulldogs on August 25 with Presbyterian and George Mason. The Benson Hospitality Invitational continues on Saturday with UNC Asheville and Northeast Conference Champion LIU Brooklyn.
 
 
Georgia then hits the roads for back-to-back non-conference tournaments. September 1-2 will have the Bulldogs at the Ohio Invitational facing host Ohio, Oklahoma and Big South Champion High Point before going to the Wildcat Classic where host Davidson, Wofford and Florida Gulf Coast will await Georgia September 8-9.
 
 
Georgia will have three final non-conference games with Kennesaw State (Sept. 12), Texas Tech (Sept. 13) and Georgia Tech (Sept. 15) before opening its 35th season of regular-season Southeastern Conference action.
 
 
The Bulldogs start the SEC schedule with a three-game home stretch facing Alabama (Sept. 22), Auburn (Sept. 24) and Texas A&M (Sept. 29). Other home games include Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi State, Ole Miss as well as the season finale against Kentucky. Georgia will go on the road to face Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and LSU.
 
 
The 2017 roster will have a mix of veteran and newcomers, as 13 letterwinners return and seven freshmen join the team. The incoming class was recently ranked at No. 30 in the nation as one of the top recruiting classes.
