Recognition for Georgia volleyball continues to roll in, as Meghan Donovan earned SEC Setter of the Week and Kendall Glover was named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Donovan and Glover helped the Bulldogs to a 2-1 weekend while moving to 6-1 on the season after play at the Bobcat Invitational in Ohio. These accolades mark three weekly league awards for Georgia in the first two weekends of play, as T’ara Ceasar was the SEC Freshman of the Week after the season opener.

In her second season at Georgia, Donovan finished the tournament with 123 assists while adding 18 digs and three blocks defensively. Guiding the offense to a .279 weekend percentage, Donovan’s 13.20 assists per set was boosted by her season-best 51 assists in a competitive match against High Point, which is the most by a SEC player in a four-set match this season. The St. Louis native’s numbers have moved her to second in the league with 11.23 assists per set this season while Georgia ranks first in hitting percentage, kills, and assists.

Earning All-Tournament honors at the Bobcat Invitational, Glover anchored the back row defense with 53 digs over the three games, good for 5.30 per set. Glover hit double-digit digs in every match, including 21 in a win at Ohio and 22 against the Panthers. Her effort against the hosting Bobcats ranks first in the league for digs in a three-set match.

The Phoenix, Arizona, product helped Georgia hold its weekend opponents to a .179 hitting percentage, as the Bulldogs rank second in the SEC with a .142 opponent attack mark for the year. Glover was also aggressive at the service line, finishing with four aces, another category Georgia ranks first in among league opponents.

Georgia is back on the court this weekend when it faces the field at the Wildcat Invitational in North Carolina. The Bulldogs take on host Davidson on Friday, Sept. 8 before finishing up the tournament on Saturday with Wofford and Florida Gulf Coast.
