Georgia volleyball dropped its first home match to Auburn 3-0 at the Ramsey Center on Sunday afternoon.

 
“I thought our fight was there every point,” head coach Tom Black said. “I think we were good in spurts here, I think Auburn made some really good plays. We were just kind of a rollercoaster. We had some good plays and some plays we’d like to take back.”
 
 
The two teams remained within two points of each other throughout the first set, until Auburn (9-2, 2-0) pulled away with an 18-15 lead. Respective kills from T’ara Ceasar and Majesti Bass helped even the match at 23, and set up a block assist for Anna Kate Karstens and Ceasar as Georgia (11-4, 1-1) took the one point margin. Auburn, however, followed with three-straight kills for a 26-24 first frame.
 
 
In the second set, the Bulldogs came back from behind to cut the Auburn lead to 11-9, forcing an Auburn timeout. Meghan Donovan, who had 27 assists on the match, and Amanda Dachs posted a kill apiece to fuel the late Georgia rally. A timely kill from Katie Houser put Georgia within two, but a point from Auburn sealed the 25-22 second set.
 
 
Georgia strung together five uncontested points early in the third frame, highlighted by a Bass kill, who had six on the match, but Auburn took the third set 25-16.
 
 
On defense, T’ara Ceasar, Meghan Donovan and Cassidy Anderson each recorded double-digit digs.
 
 
Georgia returns home on Friday to face Texas A&M at the Ramsey Center at 7:00 p.m.
