Georgia volleyball recorded its 800th win in program history on Friday night at Missouri, overtaking the Missouri Tigers in straight-sets, 25-22, 25-18, 27-25.

 
The win marked Georgia’s second-straight road-sweep in conference play and the first three-set win over the Tigers since 2012.
 
 
Georgia posted a .340 hitting percentage against the Tigers defense, which leads the conference in total blocks at 224.5. Freshman outside hitter T’ara Ceasar led the Bulldog attackers with 15 kills for a .400 hitting percentage, followed by freshman outside hitter Rachel Ritchie with 10.
 
 
“We’re very proud of the consistency and poise the ladies showed throughout the match,” head coach Tom Black said. “Missouri is an excellent team and we knew tonight would be an opportunity to get a lot better. We’re looking forward to getting back to work Monday.”
 
 
The Bulldogs locked in the first-set lead with three straight initial points, highlighted by kills from Bass and Ceasar. Georgia remained in command throughout the set, separating itself by as many as six points, before sealing the opening set at 25-22 with a kill from redshirt freshman Kianna Young, who recorded a career-high eight on the match.
 
 
Both teams traded points back-and-forth through the beginning of the second set before Georgia secured the 7-6 advantage with another Young kill. The Bulldog lead continued uncontested through the set, propelled by a five-point run, which included a pair of service aces from junior Sydney Gilliam and a kill apiece from Ceasar and Donovan for an 18-11 score.
 
 
The Bulldogs surged ahead to 20-12, capping the 2-0 match score with a Ritchie kill, set up by Kendall Glover, who also had six digs on the night.
 
 
Missouri posted a 7-4 advantage to open the third set, but two Ritchie kills and a Glover service ace evened the score at 7. After taking the 9-8 lead from a Ritchie kill, Georgia stayed in front until Missouri tied up the third set at 19. The two teams battled through the remaining points, knotting the set at 20, 21, 24 and 25, until two final Ritchie kills, set up by Donovan, secured the final frame at 27-25.
 
 
Up next, Georgia returns home to Stegeman Coliseum for a three-match homestand, opening with Arkansas on Oct. 11 on Wednesday.
