The UGA volleyball team’s outside hitter T’ara Ceasar has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season.

Ceasar guided the Bulldogs to a sweep of Ole Miss Friday evening at the Ramsey Center. The Panama City, Florida native topped her own rally scoring record, set twice previously this season, for kills in a three-set match, tallying 19 against the Rebels. She hit .375 en route to her team-leading 22nd double-digit kill match this season and 12th in three-set matches.

The freshman leads the team in kills per set (4.21), service aces (0.43), and points per set (4.91). Among conference opponents, she ranks third in kills, service aces, and points per set. Nationally, she the highest-ranking freshman in kills (29th) and points (20th) per set.

This is Georgia’s 11th weekly award for the 2017 season. Four Bulldogs have earned weekly honors while three have earned Freshman of the Week.

Georgia is back in action with a pair of road matches this weekend beginning at No. 7 Kentucky Friday evening.
