The Dawgs return to take on Tennessee on Saturday, and Murray Poole has some Vols to watch for in this one.
 
 
JALEN REEVES-MAYBIN (LB, # 21)
And on the other side of the ball for Tennessee, the Bulldogs’ offense will have to continually get a helmet on this guy. Reeves-Maybin, a 6-0, 230-pound senior linebacker, is another Athlon Preseason All-SEC First Team selection and if left unblocked, will cause mayhem in the Georgia backfield. In 2015,
Reeves-Maybin led the Volunteers with 14 tackles-for-loss, was second on the team in sacks with five and totaled 105 tackles on the year. In Tennessee’s first three games this season, he had already notched 18 tackles. Truly, Reeves-Maybin is the heart and soul of the Big Orange defense.
 
 
JALEN HURD (TB, # 1)
In Vols’ running back Jalen Hurd, the Georgia defense will arguably be facing the best back it has seen this season. A load to tackle at 6-4, 240 pounds, Hurd has the power to run inside and also the speed to get around the corner against the Bulldogs. He galloped for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and entering the Tennessee game against Florida this past Saturday, Hurd showed a three-game rushing total of 270 yards and two touchdowns. An Athlon Preseason All-SEC First Team selection, Jalen Hurd should be a marked man Saturday by Mel Tucker’s Georgia defensive unit.
 
 
JOSHUA DOBBS (QB, # 11)
Along with Hurd, the Georgia defense will have to have a plan for Mr. Dobbs, who can inflict pain on an opposing defense with both his running and passing ability. Last year, the 6-3, 210-pound senior from Alpharetta, Ga. passed for 2,291 yards and 15 touchdowns and also ran for 671 yards. And, without question, if the Bulldogs let Dobbs go off like he did last October in the Volunteers’ 38-31 comeback victory in Knoxville, it will be an ultra-long day for the home team between the hedges on Saturday. All Dobbs did on that afternoon was pass for 312 yards and three touchdowns and run for 118 more yards and two more scores. The Bulldogs, coming off facing one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Ole Miss’ Chad Kelly, must now gear up for another very dangerous signal-caller in Joshua Dobbs.
