University of Georgia soccer and women’s basketball sophomore Chloe Chapman has been named the Outstanding College Athlete of the Year by the Atlanta Sports Council, it was announced Tuesday evening.

The announcement, which is part of the Atlanta Sports Awards, came during 11 Alive’s 6 p.m. newscast. Over the next few days, 11 Alive will announce various winners, including Outstanding Coach of the Year, Unsung Hero, Positive Athlete and Top Sports Moment, among others.

The two-sport star then took to the basketball court, where she earned a spot in the starting lineup late in the year. She gave Georgia valuable minutes during the final stretch of the 2019-20 campaign, helping the Lady Bulldogs win five of their final eight games.
