» Georgia travels to Starkville, Miss., Monday evening for a matchup against the No. 9-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT. Brenda VanLengen and Christy Thomaskutty will call the action on the SEC Network. 

» Mississippi State is the fourth consecutive ranked opponent the Lady Bulldogs have played this season, with three of those contests coming on the road. Six of Georgia’s nine losses have come against top-25 opponents. 

» The Lady Bulldogs’ strength of schedule is ranked No. 12 nationally in the latest NCAA RPI release. Georgia is one of four schools — joining Indiana, Washington State and UConn — to play both No. 1 South Carolina and No. 1 Baylor this season. 

» Georgia came within one point of winning its second-straight road game against a top-25 opponent in a 64-63 loss to No. 15 Texas A&M this past Thursday. It would have marked the first time since 2011 the Lady Bulldogs have won back-to-back road games against ranked opponents. 

» The Lady Bulldogs trailed Texas A&M by 17 points, but outscored the Aggies 43-29 in the second half. Unfortunately, Georgia could not overcome a 23-8 point discrepancy in the second quarter. 

» Junior guard Gabby Connally recorded her third-straight double-figure scoring game Thursday against Texas A&M. Georgia’s leading scorer has started 51-straight games for the Lady Bulldogs. 

» Redshirt-junior center Jenna Staiti hit a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and scored eight points in the fourth quarter against Texas A&M. Staiti finished with 16 points — her highest total in five contests. 

» Georgia leads the all-time series against Mississippi State, 28-19, but has lost the last four meetings. The Lady Bulldogs’ last win in Starkville came on Jan. 15, 2012.

CLOSE GAMES AT THE HUMP

» The Lady Bulldogs have led Mississippi State in the fourth quarter in each of their last two trips to Humphrey Coliseum. 

In the 2017 meeting, Georgia led for over 31 minutes and was up 46-45 with three minutes remaining. Mississippi State outscored the Lady Bulldogs 13-3 the rest of the way for the 58-49 win. 

Then, in 2019, Georgia led 66-63 with just under seven minutes to go before missing its last 10 field goals. The Lady Bulldogs began the second half hitting 16 of their first 22 shots before missing the last 10. 

GEORGIA FALLS LATE TO MISSISSIPPI STATE IN 2020 MEETING

» Georgia trailed Mississippi State by just one point — 48-47 — going into the fourth quarter on Jan. 5. MSU began the fourth period on an 8-0 run to close the game as the Lady Bulldogs shot a season-best 51 percent from the floor in the loss.

DEFENSE TRAVELED TO FAYETTEVILLE

» The Lady Bulldogs put together a remarkable performance against one of the nation’s top offensive teams on Jan. 23 at Arkansas. Not only was it a season-low in points and 31 below the team’s average, but the Razorbacks also committed a season-high 20 turnovers. After being down 43-36 in the third quarter, Georgia went on a 19-2 run and outscored Arkansas 28-12 the rest of the way for the win. 

LADY BULLDOGS APPROACHING 1,000 WINS; COACH TAYLOR CLOSING IN ON 100

» With eight games left on the regular-season schedule, the Lady Bulldogs are closing in a few important milestones. Georgia is just eight victories away from becoming one of 14 programs nationwide to record 1,000 wins and just seven triumphs away from giving Coach Taylor her 100th career victory. 

LARGE CROWDS AT STEGEMAN

» Georgia has hosted large crowds at Stegeman Coliseum in the last two home games. A week after welcoming 4,888 spectators against Auburn, the Lady Bulldogs drew 6,047 fans against South Carolina this past Sunday. The announced attendance of 6,047 was the largest home crowd in six seasons, excluding Elementary School Day games.
