Senior guard Que Morrison has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Riverdale, Ga., native earns the honor alongside Ole Miss forward Shakira Austin. This is the second career weekly award for Morrison and the third for a Lady Bulldog this season.
Morrison finished with a career-high 25 points, eight rebounds and a career-best five steals in an overtime win at Alabama. She scored 19 points in the second half, including a game-high eight points in the overtime period.
The Georgia senior made several key plays to lead the Lady Bulldogs to the win. She hit a driving layup to knot the score at 69-69 at the end of regulation and then scored Georgia’s first four points in the extra period, helping the Lady Bulldogs build a 73-69 advantage. With eight seconds to go in overtime, Morrison put the game away with a floater in the paint to seal Georgia’s victory.
She shot over 60 percent from the field for the game, but also made defensive stop after defensive stop and finished with a career-high five steals in the win. Morrison currently ranks in the top-15 of the league in steals, assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
Morrison and the Lady Bulldogs host Auburn on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
