» Georgia faces the No. 15-ranked Texas A&M Aggies Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT inside Reed Arena. The game is available on SEC Network +. 

» The Lady Bulldogs play their third-straight top-25 opponent. Last week, Georgia knocked off then-No. 20 Arkansas, 64-55, in Fayetteville. 

» Georgia fell to No. 1-ranked South Carolina Sunday. The Lady Bulldogs are one of four teams — joining Indiana, Washington State and UConn — to play both South Carolina and Baylor this season.

» Junior guard Gabby Connally returns to College Station for the first time since scoring 37 points against the Aggies during her freshman season back in 2017-18. That 37-point effort marked the third-highest single-game total for any freshman in Georgia history. The San Antonio native leads the Lady Bulldogs with 12.4 points per game this season. 

» Thursday’s contest marks just the 10th all-time matchup between these programs. Texas A&M leads the series, 6-3, including a 2-1 advantage at home. Georgia has won two of the last three meetings overall. 

» Senior forward Stephanie Paul has been a bright spot for Georgia during conference play. Paul, who is coming off a 13-point effort vs. No. 1 South Carolina, is second on the team with 9.9 ppg against SEC foes. 

» Georgia has used the same starting five combination of Gabby Connally, Que Morrison, Maya Caldwell, Stephanie Paul and Jenna Staiti in 11-straight games. 

Scouting Texas A&M

» The Aggies, who have been without the services of All-SEC player and leading scorer Chennedy Carter the last few games, boast a 17-3 record and have won three-straight contests. Junior forward N’Dea Jones averages a double-double of 10.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest and has recorded a double-double in eight-straight games dating back to Texas A&M’s last non-conference game. Legendary head coach Gary Blair leads the Aggies in his 17th year at the helm of the program.

LADY BULLDOGS APPROACHING 1,000 WINS; COACH TAYLOR CLOSING IN ON 100

» With nine games left on the regular season schedule, the Lady Bulldogs are closing in a few important milestones. Georgia is just eight victories away from becoming one of 14 programs nationwide to record 1,000 wins and just seven triumphs away from giving Coach Taylor her 100th career victory. 

LARGE CROWDS AT STEGEMAN

» Georgia has hosted large crowds at Stegeman Coliseum in the last two home games. A week after welcoming 4,888 spectators against Auburn, the Lady Bulldogs drew 6,047 fans against South Carolina this past Sunday. The announced attendance of 6,047 was the largest home crowd in six seasons, excluding Elementary School Day games. 

DEFENSE TRAVELED TO FAYETTEVILLE

» The Lady Bulldogs put together a remarkable performance against one of the nation’s top offensive teams last Thursday at Arkansas. Not only was it a season-low in points and 31 below the team’s average, but the Razorbacks also committed a season-high 20 turnovers. After being down 43-36 in the third quarter, Georgia went on a 19-2 run and outscored Arkansas 28-12 the rest of the way for the win. 

MORRISON BACK TO FRESHMAN FORM

» During the 2017-18 season, then-freshman Que Morrison started 32 of 33 games on her way to placing on the SEC All-Freshman Team. Following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in her left knee to begin her sophomore campaign, Morrison struggled to find her rhythm a year ago. 

Finally, Morrison seems to have hit her stride with four double-figure scoring games in her last six contests. Morrison is also known as one of Georgia’s top defenders and routinely guards the opponents’ best player night-in and night-out. 

SHANIYA PROVIDES SPARK

» Georgia guard Shaniya Jones has provided a much-needed offensive spark for the Lady Bulldogs, tallying back-to-back double-figure scoring games in wins against Auburn and Arkansas. Jones has seen a considerable uptick in playing time, seeing the floor for a career-high 21 minutes against Auburn and then 20 minutes at Arkansas. 

CHAPMAN GETS THE POINT

» Another bright spot for Georgia over the last few games has been the play of freshman point guard Chloe Chapman. Even though her scoring numbers do not jump off the stat sheet, Chapman helped manage a scoring run in the second and third quarters against Auburn, before playing 13 minutes in a road win at Arkansas. 

CALDWELL’S OFFENSIVE IMPORTANCE

» Maya Caldwell has started 19 of 20 games this season and has reached double figures 10 times. The Lady Bulldogs own a 7-3 record this season when Caldwell scores in double digits. 

In games won, she is the team’s second-leading scorer with 11.3 points per game, hitting 43.2 percent of her shots. In eight losses, Caldwell averages 7.3 ppg.
