After Georgia defeats Florida 24-17, Monty Rice shares his thoughts on the Bulldogs’ seventh win of the year.
“This game always decides who’s going to Atlanta,” said Rice. “So we wanted to get this one. But, we just take it one game every week.”
The junior inside linebacker led the Dawgs’ defensive players in tackles with 9 for the game, but even though that defense played well, Rice said there was room for improvement.
“We played very well up until late in the game. They had a very long drive—it was probably about 15, 16 plays. We had some fourth downs that we didn’t stop them on,” said Rice. “Next time we get an opportunity like that, we’re going to put the fire out. We don’t have to put it on Jake Fromm to execute that third down to Eli Wolf to end the game.”
And speaking of quarterback Jake Fromm and the offense, Rice has some thoughts on that side of the ball as well.
“Our offensive line had great run schemes—Jake Fromm didn’t get sacked once, and it was on those guys.,” said Rice. “Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, Ben Cleveland, all those guys were great.”
