Former Georgia All-Americans Bailey Tardy and Jillian Hollis returned to competition this week with strong showings at the Colorado Women’s Open. Tardy and Hollis finished tied for third and 13th, respectively, in the 54-hole tournament at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.

Tardy carded successive under-par rounds of 68-70-67 to finish play at 11-under 205, five strokes off the pace of winner Jennifer Kupcho. She was 4-under through 14 holes of her final round on Friday and pulled within three strokes of Kupcho with four holes remaining but could not close the gap further.

Hollis opened the tournament with a 5-under 67 before shooting 76-72 in the second and third rounds. She completed play at 1-under 215 and in a three-way tie for 13th.

Hollis currently competes on the LPGA Tour, while Tardy plays on the Symetra Tour. Hollis played in three events in 2020, including a 13th place showing at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, before the Tour was suspended due to COVID-19. Tardy competed in the initial Symetra event of the year in March before the scheduled stopped because of the pandemic. Last season, she notched a pair of top-10 finishes in her rookie year as a professional.

Both Tardy and Hollis enjoyed standout careers at Georgia, including a combined six individual titles.

Hollis, a native of Rocky River, Ohio, was a three-time All-American, including first-team honors in 2018 when she broke the Bulldogs’ season stroke average record by covering 26 rounds with a 71.04 pace. She also tied the low single-round in school history by shooting 7-under 65 in the final round of the 2018 PING/ASU Invitational en route to earning medalist honors.

Tardy, who is from Peachtree Corners, Ga., and competed at Norcross High School, was a two-time All-American. She was the 2016 SEC Freshman of the Year and also was a finalist for both National Golfer and National Freshman of the Year honors that same spring. Tardy owns Georgia’s school record for low tournament tally, a 12-under effort to win the 2015 Windy City Classic.
