Georgia’s Caterina Don picked up a pair of postseason honors in balloting of Southeastern Conference head coaches. She was tabbed second-team All-SEC and was also included on the league’s All-Freshman in awards announced on Tuesday.

The native of Pinerolo, Italy, notched the fifth-best season stroke average in school history, covering 20 rounds at a 72.15 clip. She paced the Bulldogs in virtually every statistical category, including par-or-better rounds (11), counting percentage (100 percent), low round (6-under 66), birdies (59) and top-10 finishes (four).

Don christened her collegiate career by winning medalist honors at the Minnesota Invitational last September. She became the first Georgia golfer to win her debut in more than two decades, since Summer Sirmons did so at the 1998 Auburn Tiger Invitational. Don’s 9-under effort in Minnesota equaled the fourth-best tournament score ever by a Bulldog golfer.

Individually, Don also finished second at The Gold Rush, fourth at the White Sands Invitational and fifth at The Molly.

Last month, Don was named second-team All-America by Golfweek after finishing the shortened season ranked No. 19 nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
