STILLWATER, Okla. — Georgia’s Jillian Hollis shot a 76 in Sunday’s third round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships at the Karsten Creek Golf Club. Hollis is tied for 30th on the individual leaderboard entering Monday’s final round.

Following Sunday, the team field was cut from 24 teams to 15. The top nine golfers on the individual leaderboard – including Hollis – also will play on Monday competing for NCAA medalist honors.

“She was just a little bit off, but you have to remember she’s competing for a national championship on a very demanding golf course,” head coach Josh Brewer said. “She did chip in on the 17th hole, which turned out to be the difference in making the cut at the national championships and going home. Even though it was an off day, Jillian still something special to herself a chance to compete on the final day.”

Hollis started with a bogey and notched two more at No. 7 and No. 9 to turn at 3-over. She played the back side of the layout at 1-over, with a lone bogey at No. 15.

Hollis will almost certainly wrap on the 2017-18 season by breaking the Georgia season stroke average record. To date, she has recorded a 71.00 average over 25 rounds this season. That more than a half stroke better than the existing record of 71.52 by Marta Silva Zamora en route to winning 2011 National Player of the Year honors. Hollis, who has not posted a score in the 80s in 82 career rounds for the Bulldogs, could shoot 84 on Monday and still better Silva Zamora’s record.

Monday also will conclude Hollis’ collegiate career. She will make her professional debut in two weeks at the U.S. Women’s Open in Shoal Creek, Ala., with Brewer serving as her caddy for the event.
