Opening Tip – Notes To Know Heading Into Tuesday

 
The 5-0 Lady Bulldogs return to Stegeman Coliseum this Monday following another successful road trip. Georgia hosts Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. ET with the game scheduled to air on SEC Network Plus.

Monday’s game marks the first of three-straight contests in Athens for the Lady Bulldogs. Georgia welcomes Furman on Thursday for a 7 p.m. ET tip, before hosting current No. 2-ranked Texas for a 4 p.m. ET start on Sunday.

Georgia senior forward Mackenzie Engram has stormed out to an impressive start with double-figure scoring efforts in all five games this season. Engram, who is coming off a 15-point, seven rebound effort at BYU, currently leads her team in both scoring and rebounding with 14.0 ppg and 7.6 rpg.

The Lady Bulldogs enter Tuesday’s contest as the most unselfish team in the Southeastern Conference. Georgia sits atop the league in both assists (107 total, 21.4 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5). Part of the Lady Bulldogs’ success in the backcourt is due to redshirt-sophomore Taja Cole, who leads the league in assists with 6.2 per game.

Georgia has also played well defensively, holding each opponent at or below 40-percent shooting from the field this season. Most recently, the Lady Bulldogs held BYU to both its season low in points scored and field-goal percentage (35.1 percent) en route to a 79-63 win.

Preseason All-SEC selection Caliya Robinson has scored in double figures in 12 of her last 15 games dating back to last season. Earlier this year, Robinson was named to the Katrina McClain Award Watch list, which recognizes the top power forward in the nation.
