THE STARTING FIVE

 
Georgia will venture outside of Athens for the first time this season with a trip to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on the Cavaliers. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET start and will air on the WatchESPN app via ACC Network Extra.

The Lady Bulldogs enter Thursday’s contest after taking down Wofford, 95-56, in the season opener. Georgia outscored the Terriers, 57-25, in the third and fourth quarters behind 15 second-half points from freshman Que Morrison.

Morrison had an impressive debut for the Lady Bulldogs. The freshman from Riverdale, Georgia, scored 19 points — the most by a Georgia rookie in a season-opener since Tasha Humphrey scored 25 against Furman in 2004. Humphrey went on to win National and SEC Freshman of the Year honors that season.

In all, 10 different Georgia players scored on Sunday, including five players with double-figure scoring efforts. Behind Morrison’s 19-point output, sophomore Stephanie Paul scored a career-high 16 points. The 95 points scored on Sunday were the most by a Georgia team in a single game since 2013 against Alabama.

Preseason All-SEC selection Caliya Robinson has scored in double figures in 10 of her last 11 games dating back to last season. On Sunday, Robinson recorded her 119th career block, which moved her into the top-10 at UGA in career blocks. Before the season started, Robinson was named to the Katrina McClain Award Watchlist, which recognizes the top power forward in the nation.
