NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — The Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team will face host-school California State University Northridge in the title game of the 2015 Radisson Chatsworth Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:40 p.m. PT at The Matadome.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Lady Bulldogs defeated BYU, 66-58, in the first game on Friday to advance to the finals, while CSUN took down Penn State, 81-73, to advance to Saturday’s title game. The contest will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

[su_spacer size=”40″] – Georgia is going for its fourth-straight win of the season when it plays CSUN on Saturday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] – The Lady Bulldogs have held each opponent to under 40 percent shooting this season. In the last two games, Georgia held Georgia Southern to just 28 points and a 26 percent shooting performance, while BYU hit 39 percent of its shots and had 20 turnovers against the Lady Bulldogs.
[su_spacer size=”40″] – Senior guard Tiaria Griffin tied a career high with 23 points in Friday’s game against BYU. It marked the third game (out of five) this season she has scored 20-plus points. She has now hit the 20-point mark nine times in her career.
[su_spacer size=”40″] – Part of the Lady Bulldogs’ success against BYU on Friday came at the free-throw line. After struggling at the FT line in the first few games this season, Georgia bounced back, hitting 15-of-20 (including a 9-of-10 mark in the first half) against BYU.
[su_spacer size=”40″] – Senior forward Merritt Hempe leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game to go along with 8.6 rebounds per contest. Each of the top three scorers on Georgia’s roster are seniors with Griffin’s 15.2 ppg and Shacobia Barbee’s 12.4 ppg.

Coached by UCLA alum Jason Flowers, the Matadors hit 12 3-pointers and shot 75 percent from behind the arc against Penn State on Friday. Serafina Maulupe led CSUN with 19 points, while teammate Claudia Ramos scored 18 points and hit 4-for-4 from 3-point against the Nittany Lions.
