Caitlin Hose, a 2018 guard prospect out of Hazel Green, Alabama, has signed a national letter of intent with the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball program, head coach Joni Taylor announced Thursday.
The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists to lead Hazel Green High School to the Alabama Class 6A state championship game this past year. Hose is entering her senior season and will be an eligible freshman for the Lady Bulldogs during the 2018-19 campaign.
“Caitlin is a very bright young woman who has tremendous ability on the court,” Taylor said. “Our staff enjoyed getting to know her and her family throughout the recruiting process, and I am glad she chose to be a Lady Bulldog. Caitlin knows what it takes to win. Her high school team has played for the state title as she became one of the top players in Alabama. She is also a high-character individual who has been a tremendous student throughout her high school career — something that is very important to us here at the University of Georgia.”
Hose has already picked up several accolades over the past three seasons. This past year, she was named to the AL.com Super All-State second team and the Alabama Sports Writers Association 6A All-State second team. In addition, Hose garnered Al.com All-Huntsville Region first team honors.
She is one of the top 15 prospects out of the state of Alabama and played for the Alabama Southern Starz AAU program.
The early signing period ran from Nov. 8-15. Hose joins Donnetta Johnson and Kaila Hubbard in Georgia’s 2018 class.
