Donnetta Johnson, a four-star guard prospect out of Far Rockaway, New York, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball program, head coach Joni Taylor announced Thursday.

 

Johnson joins Jonesboro, Georgia native Kaila Hubbard as the second signee in the Lady Bulldogs’ 2018 class. Hubbard, out of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, signed on Wednesday.

Considered one of the top players in the 2018 class according to ProspectsNation.com and one of the top guard prospects nationally according to ESPN’s HoopGurlz, Johnson is entering her senior season at Baldwin High School and will be an eligible freshman for the Lady Bulldogs during the 2018-19 campaign.

“We are excited to welcome Donnetta to the Lady Bulldog family,” Taylor said. “She is an athletic playmaker who can create off the dribble and finish in transition. For Donnetta, I also know that life beyond basketball is very important, and I look forward to our staff helping her grow throughout her college career. We are pleased to have Donnetta joining our program, and I think Lady Bulldog fans will enjoy watching her play over the next few years.”

The 5-foot-11 guard attended Holderness School in New Hampshire the first two years of high school before moving to Baldwin High School. She also played for Exodus NYC EYBL team and ranks in the top-50 of most recruiting services.

Georgia is currently in the middle of the early signing period, which runs from Nov. 8-15.
