The No. 5-ranked Georgia women’s golf team shot 17-over 301 in Friday’s opening round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, placing the Bulldogs in 12th place in the field.
“No one really got it going to get that excitement or momentum going for us today,” head coach Josh Brewer said. “You’re going to have those days when everyone doesn’t play well. Today was one of those days for us, but we have two more days to keep going. We just have to play like we know we’re capable of playing, and we’ll move up the leaderboard.”
Harang Lee led Georgia on the day with a 2-over 73. The Bulldogs other counting rounds were a 74 from Bailey Tardy, a 76 from Rinko Mitsunaga and a 78, the score signed for by both Manuela Carbajo Ré and Mary Ellen Shuman.
