The fourth-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team (13-2, 6-1) is set to play host to a pair of conference foes this week, welcoming Arkansas and Missouri.

“It’ll be some more great competition,” said Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace. “It’s awesome to be here in Athens and to play at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. What a privilege for us – such a great place. We’ve got Arkansas and Missouri coming in; they’re both having good years. We’ve been working hard in practice and continue trying to improve as a team each week.”

The Bulldogs enter play this weekend in second place in the SEC standings, trailing only sixth-ranked Florida by one game. Georgia is coming off a 1-1 weekend after claiming a win over No. 23 Kentucky before falling to No. 5 Vanderbilt, 4-3, in Nashville.

Georgia hasn’t lost consecutive matches since the early stages of the 2014 season.

Three Bulldogs are unbeaten in conference play this season, with Ellen Perez, Mariana Gould and Laura Patterson carrying unblemished marks. Perez has won every SEC match she has played this season, and Patterson and Gould are each 4-0 in conference play.

The Boise, Idaho native Gould is one of only two remaining players to be undefeated on the year among the SEC athletes, joined only by 17th-ranked Frances Altick of Vanderbilt.

Georgia carries a 27-3 record all-time against Arkansas into this week’s play, and UGA is 4-0 all-time against Missouri.

“We want to shine again this weekend and do some great things and pick up two more wins,” added Wallace. “We know it’s going to be tough, but that’s what we prepare for.”
