[su_spacer size=”40″] Laura Patterson had a successful day on the court, going 1-0 in both singles and doubles play in the contest. Her doubles victory alongside Caroline Brinson was one of the highlights of the day according to Bernstein.
[su_spacer size=”40″] “I thought Laura and Caroline played one of the most complete doubles matches of the year today,” Bernstein said about the pair’s 8-2 win. “Start to finish their energy was high and their level of play followed.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Hannah King was forced to withdraw due to injury in the second set of her singles match after taking the first set 6-3, and the injury also caused the doubles pair of King-Silvia Garcia to withdraw from its match.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Aside from Patterson, Georgia still has two players alive in the singles competition: 29th-ranked Ellen Perez and 58th-ranked Silvia Garcia. Perez moved on after an injury to her opponent while Garcia had a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 win.
