The fourth-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team continues the indoor portion of their schedule with a home match against the Clemson Tigers Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. ET at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts.

The Bulldogs (2-0) opened the season last weekend with match sweeps against Michigan State and Penn in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, which secured Georgia’s spot in the ITA National Team Indoors occurring in Madison, Wis. on Feb. 9-12.

“It is two great tennis programs in close proximity,” Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace said on the Clemson-Georgia series. “It has been a good relationship and a good match to have on the schedule year after year, that we tend to have in the middle of our indoor season. It is a great opportunity for both teams at this point in time during the season.”

The series with Clemson dates back to the third season of Georgia’s program in 1976, and represents the fifth-most played opponent for the Bulldogs. Georgia has won the last eight meetings, strengthening its hold on the all-time series to 31-19. The two schools have met every season since 1991.

This season’s Tigers are 3-2 with a marquee win in their first match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend against Southern California prior to falling in the championship bout to South Carolina. Leading Clemson is junior Marie-Alexandre Leduc, who checks in at No. 20 in the ITA Singles Rankings and sports a 3-0 dual record at No. 1 singles.

Opposite of Leduc on the singles court will be Georgia’s Katarina Jokic fresh off of a SEC Freshman of the Week performance in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Jokic, No. 12 in ITA singles, took down Michigan State and Penn’s top senior and No. 1 singles player in addition to clinching both doubles points with senior Mariana Gould. Within Jokic’s 21-3 overall record is a 4-0 line against top-25 opponents.
