Fresh off a 2-0 singles performance at the SEC Tournament that landed her on the All-Tournament team, sophomore Kennedy Shaffer hit a new career-best rank of 36 in the latest ITA poll, released Tuesday afternoon.
 
 
The mark is one spot higher than the Rossford, Ohio native was in the pre-fall rankings in which Shaffer was tabbed 37th overall. Since starting 109th to begin spring play, the sophomore has amassed 19 wins in 23 matches with a 12-2 record in conference play and a team-best seven match clinchers. Most recently, Shaffer defeated ninth-ranked Belinda Woolcock of Florida in straight sets for her first-ever win over a top-10 opponent.
 
 
While the team’s rank remained the same at No. 4, top-court standout Ellen Perez slipped one spot to fourth after being dealt her first conference loss on Sunday. Junior Caroline Brinson rose in the rankings, climbing two spots from 30 to 28 and senior Silvia Garcia rounded out the ranked Bulldogs, checking in at No. 107.
 
 
On the doubles side, Georgia maintains two pairs in the poll, with Perez and Mariana Gould leading the way at 13 and the duo of Shaffer and Garcia at 67.
 
 
The Bulldogs are off this week after finishing second at the SEC Tournament, and they will find out their opponent for the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, May 3.
