Georgia sophomore Marta Gonzalez and freshman Katarina Jokic advanced to the qualifying draw of the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships on Saturday.

The doubles tandem of Jokic and Mariana Gould also moved forward to the qualifying draw, defeating Laura Gulbe and Dzina Milovanovic of Pepperdine with an 8-5 final.

Gonzalez and Jokic both improved to 10-1 this fall with their respective singles victories. Gonzalez, who is ranked No. 105, overtook Marina Espana of Oklahoma State in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-4. She ousted two ranked opponents the day before. Jokic tabbed a qualifying spot with her 6-1, 6-1 win over Wichita State’s Fatima Bizhukova, who is ranked No. 102.

Gonzalez and Jokic are competing for one of the four wildcard spots available for those that make it through the qualifying draw, which will be played Oct 3-4. A player or duo must win three matches to advance in each draw, with the main draw set for Oct. 5-8.

Georgia sophomore Elena Christofi is currently ranked No. 10 in the 2017 Oracle/ITA national singles preseason rankings, with a record of 6-2. Based on last year’s results and ITA preseason rankings, she will be competing in the singles and doubles main draw of the All-American, which is set for Oct. 5-8. She will pair with freshman Morgan Coppoc in the main draw of doubles.
