The No. 3 Georgia women’s tennis team will begin post-season play at the SEC Tournament hosted by Alabama on Wednesday, April 21 against No. 26 Kentucky with first serve set for 10 a.m. ET.

The Bulldogs are seeking its eighth conference tournament title with its last coming in 2014. In 2019, Georgia fell in the title match to No. 5 South Carolina, 4-0.

Kentucky will square off against the Bulldogs in the quarter finals of the SEC Tournament after defeating No. 19 Ole Miss 4-2, with an overall record of 15-7 and a final SEC record of 6-7. The Wildcats fell to the Bulldogs 4-0 earlier this season, highlighted with Katarina Jokic defeating No. 42 Akvile Parazinskaite 6-0, 6-0, the second time a Bulldog has reached this feat this season. 

Kentucky has two ranked singles players with Parazinskaite coming in at No. 45 and Lesedi Jacobs coming in at No. 45. In doubles, Parazinskaite and Fiona Arrese lead the nation as the No. 1 ranked doubles team. Jokic and Ariana Arseneault defeated the duo 6-3 the first time these squads faced each other. Last time these two teams met in the SEC Tournament came in 2008 with Georgia defeating No. 22 Kentucky 4-1 on their way to the team’s fifth conference tournament championship. Georgia is 4-2 against Kentucky all-time in post-season play.

In the latest ITA and USTA rankings, Georgia remained at No. 3. Five Bulldogs remained in the top-75 leading with Jokic at No. 4, Meg Kowalski at No. 16, Morgan Coppoc at No. 54, Lea Ma at No. 60 and Marta Gonzalez at No. 63. In doubles, Jokic and A
