Senior Katarina Jokic highlights the March 24 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, being crowned the No. 1 player in the country announced Wednesday morning.
 
This is the second time Jokic has reached this feat, ending the 2019 season at the No. 1 spot and as the ITA NCAA Division I National Player of the Year.
 
The Bulldogs have five athletes ranked amongst the top-125 in singles with Jokic at No. 1, junior Meg Kowalski at No. 13, sophomore Lea Ma at No. 45, senior Morgan Coppoc at No. 73, and graduate Marta Gonzalez at No. 104. In doubles, Jokic and freshman Ariana Arseneault went from unranked to No. 4, Jokic and sophomore Ania Hertel cap off the list at No. 20.
 
Jokic has had a phenomenal season thus far being undefeated in dual match singles action at 9-0 and is 3-0 against opponents that were ranked in the top-10. The Novi Grad, Bosnia native has been named SEC Player of the Week four times this season, the most ever by any women’s tennis athlete in a single season and is currently five singles wins away from earning 100 career singles wins. In doubles, she and partner Arseneault are 5-2 in dual match action and are 3-0 against opponents that are ranked in the top-25, 2-0 against foes in the top-10.

Kowalski saw the largest improvement in the rankings, going from No. 60 to her now career-high No. 13. The Chicago native is also undefeated in singles dual match play at 9-0 and has a win streak of 20-straight matches dating back to 2019. Her best win of the year came against then No. 6 Cameron Morra of North Carolina, defeating her in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(3).
 
Coppoc is 7-2 on the season in dual match singles and is currently on a six-match win streak out of the Bulldogs’ last eight. Ma is currently 5-2 on the season primarily competing at the No. 2 position and Gonzalez 1-1 on the year playing on court five.
 
As a team, the Bulldogs stayed at No. 3 and debuted at No. 3 as well in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) rankings that were announced Wednesday morning as well.
 
Georgia hits the road this weekend for a series of matches beginning first at No. 23 Kentucky on Friday, March 26 and against No. 16 Vanderbilt on Sunday, March 28.
