Head coach Kirby Smart has demanded three things from the 2025 spring drills … fire, passion and energy! Passion is a love for the game, one so deep that the individual can’t live without it. Passion is playing not for himself, but for others. Passion is a commitment to one’s craft, perfecting it, but also a commitment to the team, the unified goal; it’s a commitment to the ‘G’. These are the 10 players that bring PASSION!
Gunner Stockton QB (#14)
This Georgia born and bred quarterback is ready to step back out on the field. After Carson Beck transferred to Miami, Stockton has stuck around for the opportunity to be the new leader on the field. There is no doubt that Stockton has passion. Remember that brutal hit that Stockton took in the SEC championship against Texas? The hit drove Stockton to the ground and his helmet into the air. Eager to lead his team to a victory, Stockton quickly got up and set up for the next play. There is a passion deep in his bones.
CJ Allen ILB (#3)
Allen was first thrown into the inside linebacker role as a freshman. Now a junior, Allen will take charge of the defense. Ranked second among Bulldog tacklers in 2024, Allen is compared to Ravens linebacker, Roquan Smith. Allen has a special passion for the Georgia Bulldogs as Georgia is his home state. “It was a dream to represent my state and stay home,” Allen said. With his passion and determination, Allen will be a key player on the defense.
Cash Jones RB (#32)
Cash Jones is coming back to play with the Dawgs for his fifth year. Jones, who began as a freshman buried in the depth charts, will now be a valuable piece in the running back room. In 2024, Jones appeared in all 14 games as a reserve running back. In the CFP Quarterfinal versus Notre Dame, Jones proved to be one Damn Good Dawg with his career-long 32-yard touchdown catch. Although everything is bigger in Texas, this Texas-born running back brought his big heart and passion for the game to Athens.
Lawson Luckie TE (#7)
Luckie has a passion for football, but he’s not just playing for himself–he’s doing it for his brother. The biggest reason for Luckie’s commitment to Georgia was his youngest brother, Cannon. When Cannon was between six months to a year old, his motor functions stopped. Cannon cannot speak or move on his own, and Lawson knew that he wanted to commit to the ‘G’ to stay home for his brother. His commitment for football and his uplifting story show how passionate he is about this game.
Drew Bobo OL (#74)
Passion for Georgia is practically in Drew Bobo’s DNA. With his father Mike Bobo, the former Georgia quarterback and current Bulldog offensive coordinator, his family bleeds red and black through and through. When Jared Wilson was injured last season, Bobo stepped up to play center. His leadership will be key in the O-line unit looking for its identity. He must help lift up the O-Line by showing his passion for the ‘G’ that is in his blood.
Colbie Young WR (#8)
While Young faced some troubles off the field last season, his passion is shown by his determination to come back, not give up and make a new name for himself. He will be a leader for the team by showing how to be a strong man, not just a player. As Young has now learned, football won’t always be there. Before being removed from the team, Young proved to have some great hands, catching two touchdown passes in the early 2024 season. This wide receiver room needs that leadership.
Raylen Wilson ILB (#5)
Similar to Allen, Wilson was thrown into a starting role early but has made quite the name for himself. He will be a passionate linebacker, getting to the backfield and forcing other teams into uncomfortable situations. Wilson finished the 2024 season with 47 total tackles, ranking him fifth on the team in tackles. The talented inside linebacker has stayed at Georgia despite the young talent at this position group. By staying committed to the Dawgs, Wilson has proved his passion for the ‘G’.
Micah Morris OL (#56)
Morris is another offensive lineman that will be a key returning starter. The Georgia Bulldogs have lost a lot of players on the O-line. As one of the oldest guys in that room and with 12 games under his belt in the 2024 season, Morris will be a leader on the wall of Georgia. Born and bred from Camden County, Georgia, Morris loves the Dawgs deeply.
Beau Gardner SN (#60)
Gardner may play an overlooked position, but it’s a mighty important one. Being named to the Coaches First Team All-SEC team and being a Patrick Mannelly Award Finalist, the long snapper played close to perfection last season. Although a transfer from UCLA, born in San Francisco, Gardner now bleeds red and black. He’s passionate for his position and passionate on special teams, hustling down the field after the ball is snapped to hinder returns.
Branson Robinson RB (#22)
Robinson is on the road to recovery from his season-ending MCL injury in the game against Mississippi State. Despite the fact that Robinson had the chance to transfer, he is sticking with Georgia to prove he can be a great back in the long history of RBU. Robinson’s commitment to his recovery and his team is real passion.
