Key Quotes

Georgia Head Coach Mike White

On Texas pulling away in the second half…

“They played the same way. We were totally different team. It’s on us. Texas was terrific in the second half. I think started the second half on a 10-0 run. We had a couple defensive miscues that led to and-one at the rim and a dunk where we were hogging on the weak side. It came a little disconnected defensively and struggled to defensive rebound the entire second half. Now, we did force some tough twos. They just made them. I thought [Dailyn] Swain and [Tramon] Mark were really good. Again, did enough in the first 20. Just we’ve got to address the defensive issues, the lack of presence in the paint to finish stops with defensive rebounds in the second half.”

On offensive struggles…

“I just thought we got emotional because of the lack of stops. All of a sudden, you’re down at 8-10, it gets loud in the arena, and we just got out of character with executing our system and with shot selection. Took a few hero shots, and you can’t win on the road in the SEC doing that. We’ve been way more connected. Very disappointed. The way that we played offensively, that’s simply both in the second half.”
