Describe Athens in three words: My favorite place.

Fave bars and restaurant in Athens: The National, operated by sweetheart Chef Peter Dale is my go to for a great evening and has been for years. It absolutely never disappoints.
Home.made on Baxter Street is my new favorite spot for lunch, but the fried chicken biscuit sandwich is gonna get me in trouble.

Fave shops in Athens: The Healthy Gourmet (a great local food shop with to die for cheese and wine), Kum’s Fashions (the owner Peter will find you the perfect shades!)

Fave Athens landmark: The Georgia Museum of Art, Georgias official state art museum, free to the public, and great for the whole family.

Describe your typical Bulldog game day: I am up early with a double espresso to work home games and always have fun meeting the fans and visitors! Everyone is always happy before the game. My hubby Russell and I go to about three or four games a year with our good friends, Faith and Tripp. On those days, they pick me up right before kickoff. Faith and I buy a bag of M&Ms as soon as we enter Sanford Stadium and superstitiously eat only the red ones. It works sometimes – haha. We always stay late after the game to enjoy the bands and avoid the crowds. If the game ends early enough, we’ll go home, cook dinner and just relax with some good wine.

Who inspires you? My mom and grandma constantly inspire me because they overcame domestic abuse to support their children and families. My grandma raised five children alone and sent them all to college, with no help from her ex-husband. My mom took me and escaped from my abusive father. She now is a master seamstress and taught me how to identify quality made goods, a vital skill in the second-hand market.

Fave blog: The Flagpole Magazine is my source online for all things happening here.

Fave instagram: Blown away by the beautiful furniture crafted in Athens by @sonsofsawdust using reclaimed wood. Their Instagram is on point.

Fave book: A Man Called Ove

Fave song: Anything by Jason Isbell

Fave artist: I love this Memphis based artist named Carroll Cloar. Look him up! and .
