DWIGHT PHILLIPS JR. (RB #20) – Junior Dwight Phillips Jr. had the game of his career against Alabama. Phillips executed a dominant rushing game for the Dawgs to make up for the loss of Chauncey Bowens and Nate Frazier. He garnered 120 yards on 17 carries in an intense matchup against the Tide, proving his sheer talent and explosive skills. As Georgia moves into the season, it shows how deep the talent is at running back. Phillips took on the pressure of facing a modern-day rival with poise and didn’t let it hinder his abilities.
GUNNER STOCKTON (QB #14) – For the last three seasons, Dawg fans have seen the potential in Gunner Stockton, but his performance against Alabama showed the nation the threat he has become. Doubts surrounding his deep-throw accuracy and strength have been shut down as Stockton completed a career-high five deep passes over 15 yards. Stockton also had his first rushing touchdown of the season, ensuring fans don’t forget about his dual abilities that were heavily utilized last season. As Georgia continues SEC play, facing Auburn next, Stockton is key to continuing a successful offense.
TAYLYN TAYLOR (WR #1) – Against Vanderbilt, sophomore Taylyn Taylor faced some backlash due to some costly dropped passes, but he made three impactful catches Saturday against Alabama. This is a sharp change from the Dawgs’ regular-season loss against the Tide in 2025, when Taylor dropped a crucial pass that would’ve been a touchdown. Taylor was effective in third-and-long situations and, throughout the season, has shown talent in deep catches.
ELYISS WILLIAMS (TE #10) – Although Elyiss Williams hasn’t had much playing time, he has made high-impact plays throughout the 2026 season. Against the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Williams made a critical catch for a first-down late in the fourth quarter. The tight end is a reliable pass-catcher and possesses prime lateral agility. Head coach Kirby Smart noted that Williams is one of the most physical blockers he has seen in his career. Standing at 6-foot-7, Williams is hard to miss and is continuously increasing his understanding of the role at an elite level.
KJ BOLDEN (DB #4) – Against Vanderbilt, KJ Bolden had seven solo tackles, and Saturday against the Tide he had seven total tackles, .5 sacks and .5 tackles for loss. Although Bolden had a major impact in Tuscaloosa, if he finishes his tackles and continues to develop his awareness on the field, Georgia’s secondary could be even more lethal. When Bolden faces Auburn Saturday, he will be key, alongside Ellis Robinson, in limiting the Tigers’ scoring opportunities.
JOSEPH JONAH-AJONYE (DL #99) – Joseph Jonah-Ajonye’s ability to generate pressure in the trenches will be important in limiting Auburn’s offensive rhythm. Georgia will need its defensive front to win one-on-one matchups and force difficult decisions from the opposing quarterback. Jonah-Ajonye’s performance against Alabama shows his ability to generate pressure and penetrate the offensive line. If he consistently pressures the quarterback and helps disrupt Auburn’s running game, he could be a key contributor to Georgia’s defensive success.
ELLIS ROBINSON IV (DB #1) – Ellis Robinson IV is a key feature of a Georgia secondary that had forced 10 turnovers going into the Alabama game. Robinson gave little room for Alabama receivers to breathe and locked his side of the field down. He anchored the Dawgs secondary to secure a 20-17 win and limited the Tide to just a field goal in the second half. Robinson has grown in IQ when reading plays and refined his patience in man coverage.
