The Bulldogs signed four-star Daijun Edwards (Colquitt County High School, Moultrie, GA) and five-star Kendall Milton (Buchanan HS, Clovis, CA) in their 2020 running back class. Milton enrolled early in January and Edwards will join the team in June after he graduates in spring. With Edwards and Milton, the Dawgs will have five tailbacks on scholarship this fall that includes junior James Cook, redshirt sophomore Zamir White, and sophomore Kenny McIntosh. So who are the candidates for the new Georgia running back class and will the Bulldogs look to take two in 2021?
So far, Georgia has extended offers to 13 running back prospects in the 2021 recruiting class which includes the following:
Cody Brown | 4-star Rb | 6-foot-0 | 210 lbs | Parkview HS, Lilburn, GA
Lovasea Carroll | 4-star RB | 6-foot-1 | 195 lbs | IMG Academy, FL
Amari Daniels | 4-star APB | 5-foot-8 | 194 lbs | Miami Central HS, Miami, FL
Donovan Edwards | 4-star RB | 5-foot-11 | 190 lbs | West Bloomfield HS, MI
Gabe Ervin | 3-star RB | 6-foot-0 | 200 lbs | Buford HS, GA

Irone Jackson | 3-star RB | 5-foot-11 | 168 lbs | Manatee HS, Bradenton, FL
LJ Johnson | 4-star RB | 5-foot-10 | 204 lbs | Cy-Fair HS, Cypress, TX
Phil Mafha | 4-star RB | 6-foot-1 | 215 lbs | Grayson HS, Loganville, GA
Evan Pryor | 4-star RB | 5-foot-10 | 190 lbs | William Amos Hough HS, Cornelius, NC
Will Shipley | 5-star APB | 5-foot-11 | 198 lbs | Weddington HS, Matthews, NC
Camar Wheaton | 5-star RB | 5-foot-11 | 190 lbs | Lakeview Centennial HS, Garland, TX
Three of those prospects that Dawg fans need to know are Lovasea Carroll, Evan Pryor, and Will Shipley.
Carroll is a 6-foot-1 and 195 lbs junior out of IMG Academy but is from Warrenton, GA in Warren County. He is considered a top-100 recruit and top-10 running back nationally for 2021. Both 247Sports and Rivals rate Carroll a four-star prospect.
Back in October, Carroll narrowed down his over 21 scholarship offers to his top-eight schools which included UGA along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Penn State, Ohio State, and Tennessee. In January, he narrowed his focus further to a top-five which also included Georgia. Also making the cut from the top-eight are Auburn, Florida, and Ohio State, but he did add South Carolina.
Right now, the Bulldogs seem to be the favored team here, but it is a long, long way to go for the 2021 class. You can watch Lovasea Carroll‘s 2019 junior season highlights by clicking on the video below.
Speed KillsEvan Pryor is a 5-foot-10 and 190 lbs junior out of William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, NC. Like Carroll, he is currently rated a high 4-star prospect for 2021 by both 247Sports and Rivals. Pryor is considered a top-10 running back and top-100 player nationally.
The talented tailback has over 37 scholarship offers so far and recently took an unofficial visit to UGA on February 2nd.
Pryor rushed for 1,130 yards and 11 touchdowns on 200 carries in 13 games and also reeled in 38 receptions for 646 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2019. You can watch his junior season highlights by clicking on the video below.
Junior SeasonAnother talented tailback out of the state of North Carolina is Will Shipley, who is a 5-foot-11 and 198 lbs junior out of Weddington High School in Matthews, NC. Shipley is rated a five-star all-purpose back by 247Sports and Rivals with over 26 scholarship offers so far. Shipley visited the Bulldogs back in November for the Texas A&M game, and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind another RB from the Tarheel State given how kind it has been to UGA… looking at you Mr. Todd Gurley and Mr. Zamir White.
You can watch Will Shipley‘s most recent 2019 junior season highlights where he rushed for over 2,066 yards and 30 touchdowns as well as hauled in 34 catches for 582 receiving yards and another 8 scores in 16 games for the Warriors.
