BSB: No. 4 UGA Hosts Presbyterian College

Georgia, ranked a consensus No. 4 nationally this week, returns to action Tuesday at Foley Field when Presbyterian College visits Foley Field. First pitch will be at 3:02 p.m. and be available on the SECN+ and the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.
Georgia (27-6, 10-2 SEC) opens a five-game stretch at Foley Field with Presbyterian College (6-27). Then, the SEC-leading Bulldogs play host to No. 21 Florida (24-9, 7-5 SEC) in a three-game series starting Friday and conclude the homestand with East Tennessee State (21-8) on April 14.
Georgia is riding a season-best seven-game winning streak including its first road sweep of a top five SEC opponent (#5 Miss. State) since at least 1990.
The Bulldogs lead the series with PC 22-4 including winning the past 22 meetings going back to 1951. PC won the first four contests with Georgia, which all came in 1943. PC was swept by Charleston Southern this past weekend, falling 7-0, 13-12 in 10 innings and 15-11. Last Tuesday, PC went on the road and beat WCU 6-5.
Georgia has an NCAA-leading 93 Home Runs and .633 SLG% plus is fourth in Fielding (.984). and Runs (310) and eighth in OB% (.448). PC is batting .250 with 26 home runs and fielding .960. They are 36-for-51 in stolen base attempts and average 5.1 runs per game.
Georgia-PC Pitching Matchup
Caleb Jameson (1-0, 5.91 ERA), LHP, RJr., vs. Tristan McGregor (1-5, 7.44 ERA), RHP, Jr.
*This will be Jameson’s first start at Georgia after 10 relief appearances covering 10.2 innings. He is in his first season at Georgia after pitching for Baylor in 2025. A native of Paris, Texas, Jameson made 14 appearances including seven starts for the Bears and posted a 2-1 mark with a 5.02 ERA.
*The Bulldogs sport a 4.37 ERA with 349 strikeouts and 134 walks. Opponents are batting .235.
*PC has an 8.22 ERA with 216 strikeouts and 174 walks. Opponents are hitting .321. McGregor started last Thursday in a 7-0 loss to Charleston Southern where he went 3.2 innings and allowed five runs on six hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
Bullpen Stalwarts: Aoki, Byrd, Farley and Scott
*Georgia’s quartet of graduate Caden Aoki, redshirt junior Justin Byrd, redshirt sophomore Paul Farley and senior Matt Scott are the backbone of the bullpen. They are a combined 8-1 with a 2.98 ERA and eight saves in 36 relief appearances over a span of 84.2 IP.
Phelps & Jackson Named To Midseason Watch Lists
*Junior 3B Tre Phelps (.412-13-34) is the SEC batting leader and Co-SEC Player of the Week. He leads the nation in Hit-By-Pitches (20) and is fourth in Runs Scored (46). Last weekend at #5 MSU, he batted .333 (5-for-15) with a home run, five RBI and tremendous defense. Phelps has been named to the Golden Spikes Award too.
*Junior C Daniel Jackson (.406-16-47, 17 SB) ranks in the top 10 nationally in Home Runs, SLG% (.844), RBI (47) and Total Bases (108). Recently, he was named to the Midseason Watch Lists for the Buster Posey Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award and the Golden Spikes Award.
*Phelps and Jackson each have seven-game hitting streaks. Earlier this year, Jackson had a team-best 21-game streak while Phelps carried one over from last year that stretched to 27, one game shy of the school record.
Lujo Making An Impact
*Sophomore OF/INF Rylan Lujo (.372-5-22) is putting together quite a year as he ranks third on the team in batting (fifth in the SEC) behind the Golden Spikes Watch List duo of Tre Phelps and Daniel Jackson. In the road sweep of #5 MSU, Lujo led the starters with a .417 (5-for-12) batting average plus collected two doubles, a home run and five RBI. He started all three games in centerfield and registered five putouts including snagging a potential home run ball in a 5-5 game Saturday that Georgia would go on to win 8-5 in 10 innings. Overall, Lujo has played in 26 games with 21 starts.

BSB: Tre Phelps Named Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week

University of Georgia junior third baseman Tre Phelps has been named Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Phelps, a 6-2, 197-pound native of Atlanta, Ga., helped lead fourth-ranked Georgia to its first SEC road sweep over a top five opponent since at least 1990 as the Bulldogs dispatched fifth-ranked Miss. State as part of a 4-0 week. Phelps, who is on the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, batted .421 (8-for-19) with three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored.
Against MSU, he hit went 5-for-15 with a home run, four RBI and perfect fielding. He had a defensive gem in the ninth inning of game one of the series. It was a game-saving catch in foul territory to preserve a lead. Also, he set tone in the MSU series with an early three-run home run in game one. Georgia handed the Maroon Bulldogs their first three losses of the season after an 18-0 start at Dudy-Noble Field. Also, Phelps capped and eight-run outburst with a two-run HR in the eighth inning of 14-9 win over Ga. State last Tuesday.
Phelps and LSU’s Cade Arrambide shared the SEC Player of the Week honors as presented by Allstate. Arrambide hit .600 with four home runs (in the same game) and eight RBI for the week. He hit a grand slam as part of a 10-run outburst in the 12th inning of the Tigers series-clinching road win over Tennessee.
For the year, Phelps is batting a team-best and SEC-leading .412 with 13 home runs and 35 RBI in 32 games, all starts.
